A very innovative and complex example of the style. The start is immediately sugary-sweet, but the miiddle and finish balance out the overall aim at the palate.

Bottle, 7.2%. Vinous aroma, roasted, smells a little lagered. Clear dark brown colour. Small stable light brown head. The flavour is nicely roasted, slightly sweet. Not as vinous as the aroma, but still a bit vinous. OK balanced. Roasted aftertaste with a good deal of barley bitterness.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass The color is a dark black with light brown head with some nice lacing. The smell is a coffee bean flavor with a deep roasty malt flavor. Some slight brown sugar and hops flavor. The taste is roasty with some dark malt and burnt suagr flavor. There is some slight hint spicy brown sugar and caramel. The feel is really great and is a nice medium feel. It’s slightly carbonated and goes down well.

(12 ounce bottle - pint glass) Little head and lace. Roasted malt taste that gives it a coffee chocolate toffeish tounge. But it is balanced with a light hoppy side. Also has notes of brown sugar and cinnamon. Thick to medium bodied.

A mahogany pour with medium tan head. The aroma is full of sweet chocolate malt and hops. The taste begins sweet with chocolate and molasses then slowly fades to a dry bitter finish with a slight coffee aftertaste. This beer is full of different flavor that meld together beautifully.

I must say that this is a very interesting beer. Dark in the glass with very little head. The alcohol can be smelled along with a faint fruity character. The first thing that one notices is the coffee flavor, but it is soon overwhelmed with what I believe to be an overly aggressive carbonation. This quickly subsides and one is left with a nice hoppy finish. At the end of the day, I would recommend this and will be buying more.
