| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Jan 9, 2009 Bottle Pours a cloudy red amber with a tan head. Has a sweet fruity aroma of apples and alcohol. Good cabination. The taste is hearty and robust. Hig abv makes it strong but is still rather smooth and easy drinking. | 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 7, 2009 Bottle. From Kenwood, usually. Caramel and witchhazel, old pine bark and snakepit. Flavor is pine tar, Emmie’s arse, and liniment. Man, oh man! Sammy really got me this time! I gotta take his advice... bitbucket (2034), Kirkland, Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 7, 2009 Bottle. Pours clear dark orange with a thin beige head. Aroma of brown sugar, figs, a touch of citrus and some alcohol. Full body and fine carbonation. Boozy taste. Not a surprise given the ABV and youth of this beer. This beer is to hot to be particularly enjoyable. Looks like I should have buried it in a hole for a year. hombrepalo (777), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 7, 2009 12 oz bottle. Too hot! needed aging. This poured orange with a very small white head. immense round malt flavor, very bready, very hot and sweet. Very nice mouthfeel. The fruit aspects of this brew were prevalent on the malt, to me it seemed lightly hopped to give it some balance. Alcohol was too heavy. thornecb (1792), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 3, 2009 Bottled Jan 04. Sampled Jan 09. Pours deep amber into a snifter. Head quickly recedes leaving no lacing to hug rim. Alcohol, oak, and fig aromas. Powerful full date and fig upfront with a funky date skin and fig seed alcohol finish. I like this much better aged. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jan 3, 2009 Pours a hazy amber color with a short lived offwhite head. Smell is sweet, syrupy and rich and fruity. Taste is much milder than expected with slight bland fruitiness, light syrupyness and a bunch of alcohol. Warming but no burn. Rather mundane and unappealing but drinkable I suppose. Mostly garbage, however. I wont try to choke another down ever. tomthompson89 (1489), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
