Commercial Description:
Inspired by a tale of a cask doctor who brought sluggish ales back to life by suspending a fig in them. Brewed from 100% Maris Otter pale ale malt, a blend of fine hops and conditioned on dates and figs. User Instructions: open bottle, pour contents into two snifters. Enjoy. ALTERNATIVELY: Walk hand-in-neck with bottle into the middle of the woods. Use shovel to dig 2x2 hole three feet deep. Seal bottle in plastic bag. Place in hole and pack with dirt. Memorize location and leave. Return exactly one year later. Dig up bottle, open and enjoy.

Style and Glass: BWSA, Snifter ABV, Volume & Calories: 15% in 12 fl oz. estimated at 300C Purchased at: Trenton Road Take Out, Fairless Hills, PA for $3.73 Aroma: wow, rich, raisins, peach, rose, autumn, leaves, mold, intoxicating. Visuals: average label, nice 4 pack, like turkey gravy , muddy, mississippi, thick, thin white head, beautiful, sticky lace. Taste: mostly malt up front, good hoppy finish, unbalanced in both directions, delicious, sugary, syrupy, bitter ending, good strength. Palate: feeling of high quality, sticky, woody, long bitter finish. Overall: Exactly what I paid for — not exactly a 120 minute IPA, but more of a mix between the 120 Minute and a Raison d’ extra. I’d have it again, for sure. very nice, but not one of my favorites. Medium value for high craft.

2008 bottle. Pours a clear dark orange with a two-finger beige head that sticks around for the entire drink. Unreal lacework. Incredible aroma of yellow raisins, alcohol, raw cane sugar, yeast, dried fruits, candied figs. Taste is sweet malt and candy up front later balanced by spicy hops and warming alcohol. Syrupy mouthfeel.

2007 Bottle thanks to mar. Pours with a off-white head covering a hazy orange body. Aroma of curacao, raisins, florals and alcohol. Taste is sweet with rotten orange and deep malts and cotton candy. Syrupy mouthfeel with light bubbles.

unlike the picture, mine had a neon green cap with a warning sign on top. very strong!! according to the bottle you have to leave it in a plastic bag in a pit somewhere for a year, i only left it in there for 3 months... close enough! spicy finish

Poured a really nice looking apricot orange color with an orange tan head. Aroma immediately reminded me of port wine. Raisins and prunes. I did not know that it had been conditioned on dates and figs, but that makes perfect sense now. There was a lot of fruit on the nose of this beer, but it was fighting tooth and nail with the alcohol. I would definitely go for the alternative option on this beer. Let it age, let the alcohol astringency mellow, and this has the potential to be one hell of a beer. Will definitely revisit.

Yellow orange pour with a small head. Very citrusy with a boozy body and very heavy sugar flavors. Quite tasty.
