| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 25, 2009 Pours dark orange/brown color with modest off-white head that dissipates quickly.
Nose has mixed fruit such as canteloupe, peach, and hops. Maple & caramel are present also.
Palate has a lot of alcohol warmth, more dark fruit, malt sweetness, and mouth puckering hops at the end. Maple & caramel come through also, maybe some fig newtons.
Very slow drinking. More fruit oriented in flavors and aroma compared to most barleywines. meisterbrauMHB (53), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 25, 2009 Shared this with CBlado. Pours a cloudy, honey amber with a thin head. Hoppy, floral scent. Being my first barley wine, I didn’t know what to expect. First taste is a blend of choice hops, then you begin to taste and feel the subtle alcohol. End notes are warming and not bitter. One to enjoy on a damp, cold night. Thanks CB! BeerHawk (1175), Huntsville, Alabama, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 14, 2009 Bottle shared by lithy. Poured brown with an off-white head that settle to a ring. Nice fruit aroma of raisins and cherry with a light alcohol backing. The flavor found a great mix of cherries, raisins, and prunes. Alcohol is well hidden in the flavor compared to the aroma. Medium to full body and warming. Nice! andersand (384), Malmö, Sweden
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 14, 2009 Simple tasting with allot of alcohol shining through in the finish. Still suprisingly drinkable for the ABV and even though I’m lacking flavour overall theres still nothing that annoys me when drinking it. Really basic flavour profile though and aging is required to say the least. kkearn (1011), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
