Has almost a smoky taste. Dark beer with a strong taste over the palette. It is the best of the Dogfish products I have had so far, but that only means I tolerated it.

Dark amber with ruby highlights. Ivory head that disappears quickly. Aroma of bread, malts, and toffee. Flavor of toffee, yeast, and raisins. Nice balance and smooth drinking.

Pours a dark amber with a small amount of tan head which diminishes quickly. Malty aroma with an alcohol bite. Flavor is hoppy and semisweet. Thick mouth feel. Fruity, mildly bitter aftertaste. Great stuff.

12 oz bottle likely from the Binnys singles rack (Orland Park, IL) that sat in my girlfriend’s mother’s refridgerator for some time. Pours a nice dark copper, slight haze, and moderate tannish head that dies to a film. Aromas are nice: mellow carmel and toffee malts mixed with raisins, belgian sweet feel, and a nice strength. Initial is medium bodied, malty kick up front that is smooth as you work into the body. Light carmel and toffee sweetness, raisins, and light belgian feel with some darker malts and crisp finish. Warming, but not overbearing. I can actually note the beet a little. Pretty good for what its worth.. I thought this would be syrupy.. But it was just a pretty good beer. Cheers!

12 oz bottle picked up at Belmont Station in Portland. Nice dark brown pour with a small white head. Excellent aroma of raisins and brown sugar, taste is much the same with a yeasty note and some clove. Very tasty brew as usual from DFH.

Drank it at Wine-O before Octoberfest. Pours brown/amber. Medium bodied. Very, very sweet, raisins and spicey cloves. If you like malts this is it.

12oz Bottle. $2.25 Julio’s Liquors. Real nice dark amber color. Very little head. Definite raisin and heavy malt presence. A bit too much alcohol taste for an 8%. To be honest I was not really that into this beer. Just not to my taste even though it wasn’t bad by any means.
