Bottle. Reddish brown, creamy deep head. Looks and smells quite nice, but the awful taste is what earns the awful rating. The taste itself is mostly raisin and malt, with a rotten finish, and it was all I could do to finish the glass. Dogfish Head makes many beers of much higher quality.

Pours dark amber red with a creamy 3 finger light redish beige head that has decent retention. Aroma is dark fruit, toasted grain, roasted nuts, dark caramel. Flavor is grilled fruit, raisin, molasses, dark caramel, dark malt, herbal and bitter hops. Finish is lots of raisin, some alcohol, toast, roasted nuts and some bitter hops. This is a really interesting brew that somehow just doesn’t really pull it off for me, there is something keepiong it from being great.

Color is a bright ruby with good carbonation and a thin head. Aroma is nutty with an alcohol note. Taste is light and sweet. Starting with a lighter medium body it goes down easy with a clean feel. Finish is sweet with light fruit and a slight toasted nut flavor. After taste has a bit of alcohol showing. This is a tasty brew that is easy to drink

Not very strong and a little stale on the nose. Dark fruit, raisin, some malt, and a bit of plum. Tastes of rasins and plum again and a little alcohol feel. I can also detect a bit of coffee and hopps.Feels smooth and creamy in the mouth. Its also sweet and bitter which is interesting. I like it but I dont get this beer.

Bottle, dark amber color. Aroma has some sligt caramel malt notes. Heavy malt taste with dryness some dry plum notes. Alcohol is noticeable for 8%. Good but not that impressive from the stellar Dogfish Head.

Bottle. Decent Head with an amber color. A sweet fruity aroma dominate. A sweet fruity flavor has complexity that includes raisons and alcohol warmth the extends to the back of the throat and to the belly.

I know Im going against the grain on this one and I usually dont, normally I love the beers that get high ratings on this site, and maybe its because this beer was such a shock. but seriously, raisins? what have we done to get to a point where we brew our beers with raisins? the taste was the real deciding factor on this one. the aroma was decent, the appearance was fine, but once i got a taste of the raisins, i thought i was going to throw up. dogfish head makes a wonderful IPA, but this was terrible, just one guys opinion.

Bottle. Poured deep red with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet, very sweet, with brown sugar and dried fruits (yes, raisins), maybe some hints of vanilla. Sweet flavor, fruity, warming, but not cloying. I had this once before and thought it was overly sweet, but this time it was much more enjoyable. I want another one of these right now.
