Burgundy color with a tand head that quickly fades away. Complex aroma of sweet malt, hops and fruit. Flavor starts fairly malty and sweet with lots of raisin and fruit. Lingering bitter hops for some nice balance. Tres bien.

Pours a deep golden-red color with a thick and rich head of foam. Potent aroma of fruit and beer. 8% abv. A very pleasant flavor of green grapes and beer, leaning strongly toward the grape flavor. Absolutely no bitterness at all. This is a very pleasant and delightful ale. The taste is subtle instead of potently in your face. This might go quite well with fish. The alcohol is as subtle as the rest of the beer.

Bottle date 7/31/08. Deep ruby-brown with a thin just off white head that disappears almost instantly. Candi sugar aroma, raisins, plums, with some alcohol and woodiness. Taste is syrupy, hints of maple syrup, molasses, raisins, and prunes. Finish with slight alcohol head and sweet caramel.

Been waiting for this one for a little bit so I’m glad to finally try it out. Has hints of raisins, molasses, and malts. These all compliment each other very well to give an overall great impression to an overall great beer! Has a smooth aftertaste that is just all around pleasant. Great job once again to Dogfish Head!!

Bottle. Pours a clear dark amber with a thick creamy white head. Aromas of toast, yeast, malt, and raisins. Smooth and velvety mouthfeel with very fine carbonation. Finish smooth with a warming hint of sweetness.

nice for a brown ale, if a little thin in body. aroma - coffee, raisons, malt. dark, yet transparent ruby copper in appearance. flavor - slightly wine-y with a fair amount of malt sweetness, raisons and dark fruit flavors, and some floral hop flavors with no bitterness and a slight burnt sugar/ alcohol finish, athough the alcohol is quite well hidden for 8%. definately reminiscent of a belgian style dubbel. palate - a little thin for my taste but goes down easy. respectable beer.
