12 oz bottle. Pours slightly red brown with no real head. Aroma is mainly raisin and cloves from the yeast, hint of caramel. Flavor is slightly tart and sweet with cloves, banana, raisins, peanuts. Not my favorite, but it’s an interesting ale.

Dark caramel body with a minimal head. Mahogony notes in aroma, and a flavor that’s a bit vinous with raisins and yeasty notes. Finishes rather dry. It’s enjoyable but doesn’t really do anything to distinguish itself from any other belgian strong.

Bottle. Heavy malt aromas of caramel and roasted, light herbs and faint orange for the hops, light dough for the yeast, with port wine and a dried fruit smell like, guess what? Raisins! Head is average sized, rocky, white with fair lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is sparkling mahogany. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes moderately bitter. Palate is medium, watery with a little slickness and has a lively carbonation with a drynid finish. Not what I expected. A well rounded beer with a little added sweetness. Cheers to DFH again.

Pours deep amber to brown, biting alcohol and sweet on the nose. Flavor is quite complex and very sweet malty; raisins, fruit, yeast, plenty of sugar The alcoholic aroma I just smelled is not in the flavor at all, well hidden. Getting a sticky caramel wood flavor towards the end, still extremely sweet, a lot going on, satisfying overall.

Another sound beer from the boys at Dogfish, pours to a dark copper, nice medium body to it, very little head to it that dissipated rather quickly. Nice raisin aroma to it, hops are well balance with hints of sugar and caramel mixed with your raisin. outstanding

Bottle. Strong fruity malt aroma. Starts out with a slight bitterness that turns pleasently sweet. While the raisin flavor is apparent throughout the brew the alcohol flavor is blended well with the sweetness of the malt in the aftertaste. Worth broadening horizons for.

Bottle. Poured amber with a moderate thin lacing off-white head. Rich sugar and raisin aroma. Rich fruity and sweet flavor and finishes spicy with a bit of dry bitterness.
