Bottle. Pours a wonderful deep dark cherry red with a small/medium light brown head. Aroma is a smokey dark fruit with some Belgian yeast and alcohol. Flavor contains raisins and other dark fruit, sweet and roasted malts. A little more smokey/roasted flavor than what I expected from a Belgian Strong Ale, but was still complex and enjoyable.

Clear mahogany with a medium brown head. Aroma of raisons, alcohol, toasted malts, nuts and mild smoke. Taste of roasted malts, smoke, nuts, sugar, raisons and mild alcohol. Dry finish - akin to green grapes - that is somewhat fruity with a grainy texture. Interesting and definitely dogfish head.

A good Belian Strong ale from the Dogfish Head brewing company. Never have been dissapointed by this brewer and may never. Pours nice and dark, good aroma of fruitiful hints. Smooth with a good flavor. I had to take a couple of drinks of this one to finalize my findings but I am very impressed. Was a bit weary of it at first but will for sure have to have again.

Bottle thanks to my dad. Dark amber pour with a medium head. Smokey malts with some mild dark fruit dominate the nose. Mildly bitter and sweet. Very smooth and easy to drink. This beer would fit many occasions.

nteresting beer. not something you would want to drink on a hot day because it is rather hearty. the raisiny sweetness is present in this "winey" beer.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a deep amber with an average, creamy, tan head that lasts throughout and produces good lacing. The aroma is a malty sweetness of plums and raisins with a touch of pepper. The initial flavor boasts the sweetness of the malt. It is big on caramel with a hint of spice. Finishes sweet, grainy and warm.
