Strong taste of fruit and raisons. THe alcohol is also very well hidden, i could not tell it was 8% untill i finished the bottle and felt the effects. This is a medium beer that is very drinkable. I highly reccomend this beer.

Pours light golden syrupy like cognac or something, with a small head. Looks like and it’s in a wine glass. Aroma of dry, white grapes and alcohol? Mild balanced full flavor. Clean lacing falls down the sides of the glass. Smooth, maltly, sweet with a little alcohol taste. Very swwet finish. Ok

Pours a reddish brown with a little white head. Arom a of rasins, malt and brown sugar. Flavors of rasin, brown sugar, malt, just a pinch of yeast. Very drinkable. Not my favorite DFH, but interesting and pretty well done.

I think I tried this many years ago before I grew to love this type of beer, and didn’t think much of it (of course I was putting down a lot of miller lite at the time too- check my rating on that now). Pours an interesting color... there is a hint of purple in it. A brownish purple? Minimal head, no lacing, but the aroma is a mix of many things. There is a raisin note to it, but most prominent is the roasty aroma of brown sugar. Some raters have compared it to brandy, which is pretty accurate. The flavors are an alcoholic blend of raisins and malt. Thankfully the BEET sugar doesn’t contribute a strong flavor. There is a nice yeasty funk that comes from the Belgian yeast. A complex beer that I’m looking forward to drinking the other 5 of the sixpack, but definitely not in one sitting, there is a punch to this 8% beer.

Dark brown/copper...very pretty. Not sure about it being either purple or black. Minimal head with no lacing. I agree...the aroma is unique but familiar; I can place molasses, coffee, and some woodsy hops. Palate is medium with some carbonation. Sweet flavor of brown sugar and coffee, well balanced with hops. Slightly warm finish, with bitterness more pronounced. Reminds me somewhat of a dunkel lager more than a Belgian Ale, but not bad.

Ok, what the hell is this? I’ll answer that; it’s a purple mess the likes of which hasn’t been seen since a giant fake dinosaur sang songs on PBS. Weird aroma that I can’t quite place, but that I’ve smelled before. No head here, and minimal lacing. Color is a dark dark purple. Thin and watery. Wish I could place that aroma. Kinda fizzy. Flavor is dark fruits, sweet and sugary. Fairly boring and one dimensional. Wish I could figure out that aroma!! This really dried my mouth out, and is kinda like alcoholic prune juice. Wait, I got it. This stuff smells a lot like Fruity Pebbles! Damn, I love the cereal, but it isn’t enough to save this beer. Wanna try some? Yabba Dabba Don’t!!
