Clear dark brown-copper colour with a nice, yeasty-bubbly off-while head. Aroma of raisins, but mine had a metallic tinge. The taste was bitter, malty and of raisins. Taste is quite alcoholic as well. For some reason I didn’t find this beer very palatable. I almost didn’t want to finish this. Definitely could not have had another one afterwards.

Oct 10, 2008 Dark amber color with a white head and clear body. Nice blend of hop and light fruit flavors; the flavor and alcohol are well-balanced.

Oct 7, 2008 Bottle at Chris O’s party shack. V surprised that i actually liked this. Normally dogfish has 2 much alcohol goin on but this is quite well hidden. Good sweet, christmasey dark fruit character with hints of port and candy sugar. Tiny bursts of fruit in every sip. V like!

Oct 6, 2008 Medium amber coloured. Clear. Has a light brown head, mostly lasting. Starts malty and sweet, finish mainly bitter, some yeasty notes too. Perhaps a note of alcohol.

does not count  Oct 4, 2008 Aroma of raisins and brown sugar. Dark amber color, tiny head. The initial taste seems quite average and straightforward, but after you swallow all these beautiful little tastes phase in and out. Very good--after you swallow.

Oct 3, 2008 On draft at Highland Kitchen in Somerville, MA. Excellent beer - I was very impressed by this beer’s flavors. Kind of porter-esque with the raisin and red fruit thing going on, well-masked alcohol, not very carbonated. Rich and complex, I loved it.
