Aromas of raisins, yeast, oak, some liquor, and candy. Malty flavors of raisin, roasted malt, and touch of cherry. Slightly rich, sweet, and bitter. Pretty tasty and different.

Nose is yeasty, fruity and nutty. Hints of spices and malt. Taste is yeasty, fruity and malty. A bit sweet but not too much. Some spices. Finish is a bit sweet and a tiny bit bitter. Quite drinkable. Almost no trace of alcohol. Well made, sessionnable, nice example of the style (from what I can tell). I would have to drink this side by side with a Rochefort or something... I’ve been away from Belgian Strong for too long to compare. Really tasty and fruity. A treat really ! SpencerDB (91), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

I’ve heard good things about this so I’m going to give it the benefit of a doubt and buy another one, but this bottle was not very good Finhead (84), Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 6, 2009 A deep brown with amber highlights and an off-white head. The aroma is very similar to wine, with a sweet grape smell and some malty notes. The taste is sweet and smooth with raisin dominating the flavor. The finish is short and sweet with slight alcohol warmth. EHopper (348), Minnesota, USA

Appearance was a nice brownish-red. Taste was sweet, nutty, spicy, yeast and perhaps a little hoppy on the end. Wonderfully complex. Different but yummy take on a Belgian. georgekillian (221), USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 29, 2009 Well balanced beer with dried fruit and amber flavors. Dark amber beer with light white head. You can taste a lot of the fruits with slight balanced hoppiness. The beer definitely has the belgian finish and is really complex. Good session beer. mcberko (160), British Columbia, Canada
