(22oz bottle) Bottled on December 19, 2002. White dwarf head with a mahogany body. Nose of Apis Jadwiga mead - intense brown sugar, honey, alcohol, bourbon and iodine. Very viscous. Flavour is SO smooth, sweet. I don’t know about Sam s classification of this as a Brown Ale - I truly find it amazing though! Many many thanks to our New Jersey friend, Dave aka MaiBockAddict.

Aug 21, 2008 Bottle. Pours hazy red with a yellow head. Strong aroma, a bit sweet, with raisin and a bit of booze. Flavor is also sweet and fruity, with raisin, brown sugar and again, just a bit of booze. Very easy to drink for 18.5% ABV.

Aug 14, 2008 nice dark carmel color. has a thick mouthfeel and a stong rasion taste. i don’t like rasions too much. this beer i will not try again unless it is free. not bad though.

Aug 11, 2008 12 oz bottle, purchased sometime in mid-2007 (date lost to the winds). Pours a deep red-brown color with a small light tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is alcohol, malts, raisins and other dried fruits. Flavor is strong warming alcohol, with dried fruit - raisins. Enjoyable, but certainly only a once-in-a-while kind of beverage as I’d probably rather just drink Raison D’Etre.

Aug 10, 2008 Pours red-orange, cloudy, with a small yellowish head. Alcohol, apricot, malt, and raisin are evident on the nose. Flavor is sweet, with candied orange peel, sweet malt, raisin, and a definite alcohol bite, due to the high ABV. Nice prickly mouthfeel, very nice brew.
