Aroma is powerful hops with both citrus and wood notes. Flavor is a lot more hops with not quite enough malt to completely balance it out. It’s very close though. A tad weak on the body. It’s very close to greatness but lacking just a little bit.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Dec 23, 2009 The aroma has both pine and citrus hops as well as malt and a touch of earth and smoke. The appearance is amber with a large head for the style. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is smooth. Overall not a bad beer but definitely not an IIPA. TheGent (163), , Massachusetts, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Dec 22, 2009 Really cool to see that dogfish can do so much with IPA on so many levels. This beer poured a great cloudy amber with a head that fades quickly. The aroma of orange and other citrus blends in with some sweetness on the tongue. The bitterness is lighter than I thought it would be. The texture is great due to the unfiltered nature of this beer. Smooth and a bit thick and just a light carbination. simonbilyk (59), Maine, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Dec 19, 2009 Huge hop nose. I was working this afternoon and suddenly smelled spicy/cascade hops in my imagination. Needless to say, I had IPA on the mind and as soon as I got home popped the cap on this one and inhaled deeply. Aroma is above all clean, I can’t pick out the individual hops but they blend into a beautiful whole. The balance is wonderful, malt comes up at the finish to keep things realistic and there are sugary/syrupy flavors in the middle like the 120 minute IPA. Higher alcohol makes its appearance at the end also, causing me to speak quietly a couple times just after sipping. I love these big heavy bottles, they make the beer better somehow. I should have bought more then one of these when I had the chance. Yay beer! FlssmrBrewAlum (1177), Lisle, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 18, 2009 750 ml bottle courtesy of TheEpeeist. Thanks, Chris! Pours a nice fiery amber, a decent haze, with a sparse bubbly white head dies to near nonexistent. Aromas are pretty strong floral and resiny hops, grapefruit comes in pretty strong behind with a decent caramel malty base underneath that does well to balance. Pretty hoppy overall. Initial is thicker bodied, almost towards syrupy, a good blast of florals and resiny pine, a decent amount of citrusy grapefruit rind in there, then the thicker caramel and toffee malts come in to balance. Florals and good bitterness stick to the palate. Near non-existent carbonation, yet fairly thick body. Warming and hoppy towards the backend, some bits of tropical and candy gumball come in, goes down slowly, a bit hot, with good bitterness. I did not like the body of this beer, but the flavors were fairly right on. Not bad, perhaps a carbonation issue? radiomgb (2068), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada

Flavour is sweet, some alcohol, caramel, moderate citrus.
Sweet mouth, mod body, mod carb.
Finishes long, citrusy, some alcohol.
Pretty good balance, very tasty. Another good IPA from Dogfish not including the horrible 120 minute.

Lots of grapefruit and pine in the nose. Medium body with a good amount of carbonation. Solid caramel and hop profiles up front with mild bitterness. Finishes with mild hop bitterness. Very tasty this is what 90 min should be. redlight (1496), Winter Park, Florida, USA
