Bottle enjoyed with Jen during our visit to Barnsley Gardens/Farms. Good looking brew. We both agreed that the aroma was nicely sweet with honey and chocolate which seemed a little odd give the generally light color of the beer. As for the flavor, Jen did not much care for it and while I thought it was interesting, I don’t think I’d have it again. All the elements discussed on the bottle are there to a degree. I thought I got some honey, very light coco, and there was certainly a hint of chille peppers to the finish. However, after the initial flavors started kicking in the blend became a bit odd to me and the finish was not particularly enjoyable. Don’t know if that was the peppers or the type of yeast they used. In any event, and interesting experiment. Keep ‘em coming and I’ll keep trying them. At least once anyway.

Dec 27, 2009 Light orange, thin tan head, nice lacing. Aroma of honey, chile and cocoa. Sweet at the beginning and a lovely spicy finish. Very unique and very delicious.

Dec 23, 2009 Cloudy burnt orange... Aroma of raw honey.. Flavor is of honey, spices, and cocoa powder... Very spicy for a beer, can definitely appreciate peppers on the palate... Good beer, very interesting...

Dec 17, 2009 Can smell the chile spice, nice appearance. This has a good flavor. Don’t notice the cocoa much, but the chile is very evident. Flavor is sweet but not heavy. Pretty tasty.

Dec 15, 2009 Bottle. Brown pour with vigorous tan head. Slight cocoa, spices and etoh flavor, definitely a DFH concoction. Chilies don’t make it, IMO.

Nov 29, 2009 Bottle. Pours orange/gold, with a white head. Aroma is fruit, sugar, and some spices. Flavor is fruit, and sugar, with some chile burn as you swallow. Medium body. Not bad, but I was expecting more, with the interesting ingredients used.

Nov 28, 2009 Pours a small tan head with good retention and laceing. Hazy gold amber color. Medium body, soft carbonation, oily and coating. Fruity nose with notes of honey and spice, maybe a bit of cinnamon. Cocoa i did not really taste, was really looking for that, peppery spiceyness was neat, light earthy and vinous notes too boot. Dry, peppery finish. Bottles procured @statelineliquors. Interesting brew but somewhat dissapointing in flavors and aromas.

Nov 27, 2009 Despite many others saying they did not detect the chilies, I did, probably because it was the one element I wasn’t looking forward to. Nevertheless, it appeared in its long finish, just a subtle suggestion that I had just had something with chilies in it. Made for an interesting experience. Otherwise, it poured a lovely, cloudy yellow with very little head. Aroma was lacking and quite disappointing. Overall, interesting, malty, spicy, definitely worth trying!
