World Wide Stout is one of the world’s strongest dark beers. It is brewed using six different yeast strains over seven months and then aged for half a year. Dark, rich, roasty, and complex, World Wide Stout has more in common with a fine port than a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer (released in early winter with very limited availability).

Just over the top!!!! Pours pitch black, oily head disapates quickly. Alcohol up front on the nose, lots of dark fruit some chocolate and roasty malt. Taste is sugary plum/raisin, some licorice up front lingers behind the roasted malt and chocolate heavy alcohol with brandy sweetness on the finish. Palate is thick and oily some astringance. Might have served this one alittle too cold, easier to drink as it warmed. Can’t wait to try 120!!! 20+% can’t imagine.

Dark almost black body with a dusting of a caramel colored head. Aroma is incredible and complex. Powerful dark fruit notes hit the nose, followed quickly by vanilla and chocolate with a bitter end to the aroma. Body has almost a syrup like mouth feel with a nice tingling of carbonation. Flavor is overwhelmingly dark fruit, dates and figs, with a chocolate in the background. The alcohol only sneaks out at the finish, subtly appearing behind the strong flavor. Finish is nice and long lasting with a comfortable bitter dryness left on the tongue.

Bottle. Pours an almost black liquid with a very small head. Aroma is pungent and alcoholic with some roasted notes and vegetables. Taste is dominated by alcohol, with a rather small background of malt and some roasted notes of old salad. A bit of a disappointment, but it probably gets better after a few years.

From a bottle that is just over a year old. On the initial pour there is not much head if any at all, but that is to be expected. I get lots of fruit smells on the nose, plum, raisins, subtle orange peel there. Also I get slight chocolate and hints of coffee. Roasted malt there as well. You can also smell some alcohol on there as well but not much considering the amount of alcohol that is in there. I taste chocolate, some plum, alcohol, slight hops. Really almost too much to name in what you can taste there. Great beer. Full bodied but not as much as you might expect. I would say that anyone that loves beer should have this one at least once.

An amazing beer in the ultra high alcohol category. Pour is a dark amber and fairly dark, but not pitch black like most other imperial stouts. The smell has figs, raisins and sweet malts. Taste is a luxurious mixture of sweet malts, strong dark fruits and a fair amount of hoppy bitterness. Only note of contention is that it really doesn’t have anything in common with an imerial stout, except for a little aftertaste of coffe. Overall an excellet ale that hides the alcohol quite well.

Kahlua and charred oak nose. Black viscous pour. no head. Silky mouthfeel, full body. The flavor is not dissimilar to a Black Russian but with a bit of carbonation, currants, bark and grass. Finishes with prunes and smoke. The alcohol content is noticeable, but no where near as overpowering as one should expect for the amount that is in it. I would not recommend this beer to anyone who lacks the maturity to handle it. Seriously. I’m not sure this is still beer, but it tastes pretty freaking good.

Alcohol and rasin, red-winey aroma. Deep opaque black color with nice tan head. Sweet candi syrup with roasty and light hop notes. Nice belgian yeast dry fruits and warming finish as well.

12 ounce bottle 2004 Very smooth considering the alcohol content. Has to be one of the top stouts on the market.

Poured black with brown foam that does not last long. The aroma is sweet and malty with caramel notes. The flavor is cloying sweet, caramel and chocolate and roasty after notes. The palate is thick and chewy with warm alcohol and light carb. Overall a big beer that is too sweet for me. I think it would be better if it was more attenuated. Interesting flavors meld well.
