This brew pours about as close to zero head as you can get. Strong aroma of grapes and alcohol. It reminds me of a strong port mixed with vodka or something. It is 70,000 mile unchanged motor oil opaque black in body. WOW! What a strong fruity finish with a bubbly taste that was very sweet and very strong. A real sipper @ US $129 per case.

Bottle. Nice nose-chocolate, alcohol. Taste-maple syrup, grapes, vanilla, honey, chocolate. Very rich and flavorful. A very, very, very well made beer. I rated the 18% much lower than this. This is very close to being a perfect beer.

12 oz bottle - I believe this came via trade with Firemoose15 - Thanks Mel! - Pours black with no head at all. Aroma of alcohol, sawdust, and molasses and a bit of chocolate. Flavor is bourbon-like. Some strong alcohol flavor, behind that notes of chocolate, grapes, prunes, a little vanilla.. The flavor is quite complex, but the finish is straight up alcoholic. This is powerful stuff. On the palate this is very smooth except for that alcohol burn that comes at the back. Sticky thick and a real sipper... Anything more would put you on your back in a hurry.. Very unique..

without a doubt the best beer i’ve had. poured a red hued black with almost no head. wow, there is some alcohol in this, very whiskey like nose. sweet malt and vanilla flavor rich grape notes, some nutmeg and very dark rich maple syrup. very strong, very good, rich plum and doughy notes. so damn rich, so damn good. there is no other way to say it. thanks to richlikebeer for this gem

At first the aroma only offers choclate and some maltiness, but as I continue to inhale a deluge of alcohol comes and backs me off. This has some ass to it no doubt. Pours pitch black and this beer truly has NO head. Not even a few bubbles of carbonation holding hands to impersonate a head. Choclate cough syrup. Straight up. There is some rum soaked date and fig toward the finish, but mostly malty/choclate and alcohol flavors predominate. I used to think this beer was too expensive, but considering 2-4 oz is what I believe to be the proper serving you get 3-6 servings a bottle. This is the second beer I have had after battling a cold and this has perked me right the heck up. Crazy beer, but as a feat of brewing it merits good marks.

Out of a bottle, acquired the case local dist. had hidden. Aroma very similar to a wine, chocolate cordial. Taste is almost too sweet and you can taste the alcohol...go figure right. Nice roasted malt and chocolate flavor. Body is about as black as it gets had a quick head that cleared quickly. Palate was of an oil slick which I liked. Overall, tasty and head turning.

Pours an opaque black colour with no head. Aroma of burnt malt, chocolate and coffee. Heavy body. Thick syrupy mouthfeel with very little, if any, carbonation. Taste is sweet up front but then the rich chocolate and roasted malt flavours come bursting through. Alcohol is noticable but not unpleasent although I did wake up the next day feeling as if I had been on a good bender. I’m glad I tried it but doubt if I’d have another
