Clear dark brown body. Boozy raisin juice aroma with sweet torte cake in the background. The flavor has a nice chocolaty/cake base with brandy fruit on top. Fortunately the alcohol that dominates the aroma isn’t as apparent in the flavor.

Very dark but not syrupy. Smooth. This is a serious stout without a hint of hops. I took 1 1/2 hours to drink one, do not pound down a six-pack of this in an hour. The alcohol is noticeable, so is some sweetness. Very complex taste with some raisin overtones. Be ready to pay $9.95 for ONE 12oz bottle.

Flat. Black. Soy. Full bodied. Sweet! More soy, slight roast, LOTSA ALCOHOL! Sweet sumbitch. Shame. Would it age well? Would it ever dry out? Can only imagine?

thanks to enniskillen for sharing this brew.this version of the wws gave off a body that was black in appearance, until it was held to light.then i got a bit of ruby red highlights.the aroma contained mostly alcohol, followed by a bit of coffe.the flavor starts out WAY SWEET.this is sweetest sout i have ever had.the only other flavor i could grab was beef jerkey.honestly this tastes more like a dessert wine than a stout.it even leaves gelitan lacing on the glass like a wine.i think its a bit over the top if ya ask me.

(Bottle) Pours beautiful dark with deep red and brown tones. Heavy malty and liquor-ish aroma with complex tones of dark chocolate and dark fruits like raisins and figs. Raspberries, soy, rum, caramel, dark fudge, syrup, brown sugar, dark bread and English fruit cake are also present. Spicy with notes of vanilla, cardamom and cinnamon bums. Good strong alcohol warmth on the nose. Vinous flavour with tones of vanilla, mature dark fruits and mature dark berries. Also a lot of creamy dark chocolate, some anise and liquorice. Malt brings heavy tones of caramel, syrup and dark bread. Liquor like and sweet but not too sweet, just perfect. The dark fruit tones bring raisins, dark grapes, figs and plums flavour wise. Numbing (without destroying the palate) peppery alcohol warmth. The aftertaste goes on end on with a complexity never seen before. Surprisingly smooth but a bit syrupy mouth feel. Full bodied. I can imagine that this beer was way too “hot” when it was first released but now, wow – a perfect and fantastic Imperial Stout liquor.

Courtesy of Pailhead. Dark brown with mahogany edges, completely flat, very oily. Nose is full of alcohol, actually burns when taking a big whiff. Tons of residuel sugar, toffee and caramel. Flavor much the same, overly sweet and cloying. Mostly caramel and toffee, faint vinous notes, either fig or raisin, not a hint of coffee or choclate. As it warms alcohol takes over. Warming finish.

Bottle. Big thanks to TheBeerCellar for sending me this one, I’m happy to have tried it. Poured a beautiful black liquid with a small ring of a head. Aroma is alcohol, roast. Flavor is hot even though the bottle is 5 years old, the alcohol blends with the molasses and chocolate roast leaving a major bitter sweetness to it. This has become a sherry. Although it is enjoyable, it is not my particular cup of tea.

"my whole face is death" "it smells like death" Just some quotes from my buddies. Bottle thanks to acertain. Split three ways into big snifter. POurs with no visible carbonation, no head wither, Color is blood infused black. Not clarity at all. Of course the aroma is very strong. Still dominated by alcohol. Not as strong as Utopias but still damn strong. Understandable. Outside the alcohol there is chocolate and lts of cherry. Rummy as well. Taste is choclate mixed with run and a hint of cherry. Some roastiness and licorice. Still very strong and very hot. Mouthfeel is very silky and nice. Still ageable and worth trying.
