Black. Aroma of Vietnamese coffee & phenols. Vague nuts. Mellow malt, vanilla, nuts, coffee. Stiff alcohol in the sweet finish. Good, but not great, like its predecessor.

Bottle at Akkurat, Stockholm Beer Festival 2007, after festival RB night; huge thanks to oh6gdx
Black and brown color, no head, tears on the glass. Alcoholic aroma, some phenol, mature caramel, tobacco. The liquid flows like lava in my mouth, wrapping the tastebuds like a superfluid, with its sweet concoction of caramel malt, delicate chocolate malt, raisins. The final is shorter than expected (the age?). A monster.

Black with almost no head. Aroma is sweet, port, and fairly faint alcohol (at 23%, "fairly faint" is remarkable). Flavor is date/prune sweet with port elements. You’d never guess this is a 15% beer, much less a 23% one.

Opaque black, no head. Very caramelly, roasted nose. Very sweet, lots of caramel, vanilla, licorice and salted licorice. Some alcohol and notes of oxidation. Soft, liquerish with loads of alcohol. Is this beer? More like a liquer.

(Bottle, courtesy of Kevin) Pours a thick oily motor oil-like black body with no head. Complex aroma of alcohol, grapes, chocolate, strawberries, wood, molasses, and prunes. Flavor of licorice, fruit, and chocolate with a liquor palate.

Poured with almost no head, dark black color. Aromas of chocolate, coffee, dark fruits, maple syrup, and alcohol. Tastes sweet and syrupy with a moderate alcohol (but no where near the 23%) finish. Not a beer you can drink fast - one to sit down, sip and enjoy.
