there is a plethora of alcohol abounding from this brew with other notes of licorice and chocolate. opaque, red-black body with no lacing or head. offset slightly from the center of my glass there is a slight cyclone of a whirlwind spin going on in the carbonation department (possibly a piece of yeast at the bottom of my glass getting a little wild). well, ...here goes... WOWZERS! there is a tonnage of flavor going on here. sweet malt, lots of alcohol, medicine, vanilla, black cherries, somewhat oily, somewhat sour and lastly, even a hint of danger. this beer even makes my head a little bit dizzy.

black and nearly headless. sweet aroma of port , sherry and a little alcohol( but very understated for 23%). rich fruity taste, lots of dates, figs, anise, cardamon, coffee and chocolate traces of fennel, carrawy, mustard seed. flavors blossom as the beer warms. mellows in to a sweet tasty haze with a rumm finish. great desert beverage with a nice warming effect.

This rating is for what they have created. The alcohol was overwhelming of course, but once you got past it, particularly with the help of the chocolate wafer they provided, this is quite a joy to explore. Dark eggplant purple and black. Sweet and syrupy, the alcohol seems to mask all but the hints of roasted malt and the hops. However, if I want a nice port, I’ll buy one.

"Vim and Vigor" marked out. Bottle pours quite black with no head and no lace. The aroma is raisin and alcohol. The flavor is of sweet malt, raisin, sweet sherry, port, woody, pepper, and alcohol. The palate is thick, especially considering how much fermentation occurred. Overall, this is a strong sweet beer. I really like it. I think I will hang on to the other two for another year or so and see what happens.

intense roasted alcohol aroma, looks like syrup, so sweet and intense, this one is definitely max power, winey as hell, earned instant cult status on campus because of the outrageous alcohol, "one sip gave me a buzz", "that’s disgusting", and "that’s amazing" are all comments I heard throughout the room

Ok I originally wrote a huge long, creative, humorous comment on this but it messed up. So, simply put: I drank a full 12 oz. bottle at Thanksgiving Dinner. This beer will rock you and light any cowboy’s fire to the depths of his soul. Not for the faint of heart. Possibly not even for the stout of heart. Only maniacs, masochists, and martyrs need apply

Alcohol, candy, plums, mollasses, brown sugar, very sweet. Nose of port wine also. It couldn't really be any blacker, completely black with an initial head. absolute loads of hops up front, chocolate and alcohol continues light roast hidden in the sweet kick. Lots of a red wine flavor thats great.
