The alcohol was overwhelming of course, but once you got past it, particularly with the help of the chocolate wafer they provided, this is quite a joy to explore. Dark eggplant purple and black. Sweet and syrupy, the alcohol seems to mask all but the hints of roasted malt and the hops. However, if I want a nice port, I’ll buy one. Syd (909), Waconia, Minnesota, USA

The aroma is raisin and alcohol. The flavor is of sweet malt, raisin, sweet sherry, port, woody, pepper, and alcohol. The palate is thick, especially considering how much fermentation occurred. Overall, this is a strong sweet beer. I really like it. I think I will hang on to the other two for another year or so and see what happens. Zach Diesel (907), Portland, Oregon, USA

So, simply put: I drank a full 12 oz. bottle at Thanksgiving Dinner. This beer will rock you and light any cowboy’s fire to the depths of his soul. Not for the faint of heart. Possibly not even for the stout of heart. Only maniacs, masochists, and martyrs need apply elektronikfagtekniker (892), kbh, Denmark
