without a doubt the best beer i’ve had. poured a red hued black with almost no head. wow, there is some alcohol in this, very whiskey like nose. sweet malt and vanilla flavor rich grape notes, some nutmeg and very dark rich maple syrup. very strong, very good, rich plum and doughy notes. so damn rich, so damn good. there is no other way to say it. thanks to richlikebeer for this gem

Wow. What is there to say. The alcohol is very evident- how can it not be? Beautiful black- jet black. Leaves lovely legs on the wine glass. Lotsof port notes. Much more palatable then that shite that Sam Adams keeps atempting. I shared this bottle with my wife, and I easily don’t think I would have liked to try it on my own. I was glad to share it with someone.Truly unique. Yummy. Thanks Nuffield.

Very black. Very complex aroma of dark fruits, sherry, vanilla, chocolate and coffee. The flavour is extremely complex and powerful as well. It really fills your mouth well. The alcohol is very well hidden. If I didn't know, I would guess it was 12 or 13%ABV. After tasting all three World Wide Stouts side by side I think this one is the best.

This is very impressive! The alcohol is so well hidden, it is almost unbelieveable. Lots of sweet caramel and malty notes in the aroma. Burned caramel and roasted malt in the start and middle, with a delicious toffee-like finish combined with burned toast and brown sugar. Very smooth and soft. Brown sugar and burned caramel in the palate. This a very delicious brew!

I will echo all the other "WOWs" I heard from people who have tasted this. This was a draft sample; Huge vinous nose of sweet and sour cherries and dark fruit, grapes and sweets.Huge explosion of flavor on the palate with a continuation of a cherry-port or brandy smoothness and a warming yet not overpowering(yea right!)alcohol follow-through. A crisp, fine carbonation.Huge residual sugars evident in a brandy-like coating of the glass, post sip. Aromas and flavors intensify as it warms. NOT meant to be served too cold. It’s an awesome experience. Not for the un-suspecting user(I can only imagine "joe six-pack" getting this by mistake and pouring it out);but something to savor.

Coating the glass dark. Deep dark pit from which there is no return, traces of wet animal lull you to question what kind of brew this is and then you are hit full on by Plums, dark cherry and hints of alcohol. Sweet coating cheeries, ripe plum, raison, dark chocolat rub sholder to sholder like an NFL definsive line barly leaveing enough room for the little coffee roastyness that hides in the blackhole. As it bends light and your mind flavors start to mutate and transend to toffee, sherry, port, and honey.......heaven and hell in a little glass.

This is the darkest beer..and the best beer. The amount of flavors you get is amazing in each sip. Very sweet with a very plum taste. You can smell the alcohol more then you can even taste it. How they hide all that alcohol is what has me baffled. The mix of tastes are very complex. This is truly one kick ass beer...one to really be savored and enjoyed. This is worth every penny!
