Black pour with no head. Aroma of molasses, rubbing alcohol, bready malt and more hot booze. The flavor held some bready malts, chocolate and an onslaught of hot booze. Hot and boozey over the full body with a warming/burning finish. I bet this stuff will be great in 20-30 years. PilsnerPeter (2667), Flushing, New York, USA

Aroma is overwhelmingly alcohol, burnt chocolate liquer. Flavor is very complex, thick, peppery molassis like body. Chocolate syrup like charcter with a suggestion of sweet raisins, and sweet espresso, toasted caramel. Upfront it’s warm and roasted, however it finishes smooth and sweet. Afterward you lick your lips and there’s a sweet residue left on them. AgentSteve (1378), SF Bay Area, California, USA

Chocolate and coffee along with alcohol in the nose. Goes a bit more port and soy. Viscous mouthfeel and not a lot of alcohol in the flavor, considering. rauchbier (3003), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England

Another shared bottle with the "Coallition Of The Swilling" At GBBF2003- 2 Americans (Nuffield and Beer Limey), 2 Australians (Duff and Spiesy) and 2 Brits (SilkTork and me), sampling weapons of mass destruction like WWS. Jet black, no head and minimal condition. packed with fruit, licorice and roastbarley, but far too strong and sweet for my taste. The alcohol numbs the senses, I think you realy need a long time to age and try this beer before it reveals any true greatness.

The flavor has a nice chocolaty/cake base with brandy fruit on top. Fortunately the alcohol that dominates the aroma isn’t as apparent in the flavor. beerguy101 (3960), Newark, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 25, 2003 Deep black color. No head at all. Aroma is sweet, port wine-ish. Very sweet with a noticeable alcohol presence, oily and port like. It also very sake like, if that makes any sense at all. Lots of complex flavors, chocolate, cherry, fruits and a whole lotta alcohol stuff. Really too much alcohol to be anything but a high alcohol beer. Guess I’m saying it unbalanced towards the alcohol? Definitely worth trying, and I would love to taste this stuff after its been cellared for about 3 years. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and surprisingly smooth. Aftertaste is all alcohol. Thanks for sharing user_experience.
