Another shared bottle with the "Coallition Of The Swilling" At GBBF2003- 2 Americans (Nuffield and Beer Limey), 2 Australians (Duff and Spiesy) and 2 Brits (SilkTork and me), sampling weapons of mass destruction like WWS. Jet black, no head and minimal condition. packed with fruit, licorice and roastbarley, but far too strong and sweet for my taste. The alcohol numbs the senses, I think you realy need a long time to age and try this beer before it reveals any true greatness.

The flavor has a nice chocolaty/cake base with brandy fruit on top. Fortunately the alcohol that dominates the aroma isn’t as apparent in the flavor. beerguy101 (3971), Newark, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 25, 2003 Deep black color. No head at all. Aroma is sweet, port wine-ish. Very sweet with a noticeable alcohol presence, oily and port like. It also very sake like, if that makes any sense at all. Lots of complex flavors, chocolate, cherry, fruits and a whole lotta alcohol stuff. Really too much alcohol to be anything but a high alcohol beer. Guess I’m saying it unbalanced towards the alcohol? Definitely worth trying, and I would love to taste this stuff after its been cellared for about 3 years. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and surprisingly smooth. Aftertaste is all alcohol. Thanks for sharing user_experience. Frank (1071), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Sort of a sweet port wine crossed with stout. Notes of molasses, raisin, banana, and grape. Syrupy with a strong alcohol presence and a touch of bitterness. dberger624 (1028), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA

Very sweet molasses flavor that dominated the entire pint. You could tell the alcohol was there but it wasn't overpowering. Brewso (238), Mt Kisco, New York, USA

Followed of course by an alcohol burn from the back of the throat and into the chest. I poured one bottle into 4 wine glasses and shared with friends during dessert. A perfect end to a nice dinner. Has that high ABV nose.
Sweet and strong.
