Bottled. Another shared bottle with the "Coallition Of The Swilling" At GBBF2003- 2 Americans (Nuffield and Beer Limey), 2 Australians (Duff and Spiesy) and 2 Brits (SilkTork and me), sampling weapons of mass destruction like WWS. Jet black, no head and minimal condition. packed with fruit, licorice and roastbarley, but far too strong and sweet for my taste. The alcohol numbs the senses, I think you realy need a long time to age and try this beer before it reveals any true greatness.

Clear dark brown body. Boozy raisin juice aroma with sweet torte cake in the background. The flavor has a nice chocolaty/cake base with brandy fruit on top. Fortunately the alcohol that dominates the aroma isn’t as apparent in the flavor.

Poured dark, dark brown and watery looking with minimal head. Aroma is sweet with hints of bitterness. Flavor surprisingly bitter, also taste licorice. Also surprising is the the chewy body on this beer, even with its high alcohol. Definetly different and not what I was expecting from an Imperial Stout.

Black and with minimal to no head, this beer pours ominously. I am kind of fearful of the alcohol content...but at 23% ABV, it is certainly drinkable. Make no mistake, the alcohol is very present, but it does not linger (at least in your mouth). I smell red wine, fermented fruit, and some sweet tones. Alcohol does dominate initially, then it finishes nicely with definate maltiness, and even some chocolate. Very sweet finish. I think this will be very drinkable for the alcohol content.

Tar black colour with a small light brown head. Very strong alcohol sweet aroma with notes of chocolate and vanilla. Malty flavor with some fruity sweetness and notes of liqourice. Sweet balanced alcohol finish. Smooth oily palate.

Bottle: Courtesy of Eyedrinkale via trade. Huge alcohol aroma, almost tequila-like. Behind all the alcohol is chocolate, molasses, and the slightest hint of roastiness. Vinous aromas in there as well. Probably the most alcohol I’ve smelled in a beer outside of the Utopias. Pours a very dark brown, with no transparency with a minimal tan head. Very sweet. Sugary sweet with some light hints of fruit (apple) and sweet chocolate. Finish is rather vinuous with lots of alcohol and a moderate warming affect. Definitely a sipping a beer in small amounts. Just a tad too sweet for my preferences.

Courtesy of Pailhead. Dark brown with mahogany edges, completely flat, very oily. Nose is full of alcohol, actually burns when taking a big whiff. Tons of residuel sugar, toffee and caramel. Flavor much the same, overly sweet and cloying. Mostly caramel and toffee, faint vinous notes, either fig or raisin, not a hint of coffee or choclate. As it warms alcohol takes over. Warming finish.
