Let me start off by saying that this beer is in a class all of it’s own. Extremely powerfull, in every aspect. Out of the bottle it’s dark brown/black with just the slightest tinge of red around the edge, no head to speak of. Aroma starts off by burning your nostrils with alcohol, but then you begin to notice some plum and rasin, big malts and sweet brandy lying in the background. The first sip starts the same way with you trying to catch your breath because you feel like you just did a shot, then all of the flavors come flooding in, starting this time with the sweet hotness of brandy, followed with the malt and dark vinuous fruits. This beer is an absolute masterpiece that must be experienced, I assure you that even if you don’t like it you’ll respect it. UnionMade (621), Connecticut, USA

Alcohol is well hidden, although seems to bring forth a warmth in your stomach. Hints of wood, chestnut, milk chocolate, molasses, roasted coffee beans and caramel. I noticed that my eyes stung with an alcoholic burn when I exhaled through my nose taking a sip....I thought it was funny. I think beers like this are sort of gimmicky and a $9 bottle of beer is a little extravagant, but it’s fun to try, and share with a friend. crazyvin (1254), New York, USA

Excellent color but with very little (if any head). Maybe I should have poured it at a warmer temperature. Rich aroma with plenty pf alcohol sweetness and licorice. Over the top alcohol content which was stronger than I prefer. My gums were tingling after the second mouthful. Taste is excellent with many flavors hidden under the alcohol. Not as strong of a flavor as some other stouts though. Truely a complex beer. Very good for special occasions but not as a regular. Don’t plan on doing much the rest of the day after drinking this one. A very good stout but the selling point for this beer is the alcohol content and not because of the flavor. 80skid (64), New York, USA

I had their 24% and wow, what a beer. Pours extremely dark, looks almost like a cola with an off-white head. The alcohol, although very present, I thought was well masked for this beer’s strength. Light syrup and malts fill your mouth and clean your throat on the way down. Expensive but worth it at $10 a bottle. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA

Malts and fruits cannot hide the 23% ABV. This stuff is the mother of most Imperial Stouts. A bit too sweet to drink more than one, but you have too apprieciate the work that went into this great brew. 23% ABV is incredible. bu11zeye (5621), Frisco, Texas, USA
