Commercial Description:
Dogwood Bock is a German style lager brewed in the traditional bock style to celebrate the coming of spring. It has a big, smooth, rich maltiness, yet is gently shaped and balanced by a firm hoppiness.

Cloudy, ice-tea coloring. Subtle and smooth malt with a balanced hops follow. Not too complex for a bock, but very enjoyable.

clear amber, big beige head. malty, alcohol, mildly roasty nose. starts sweet and malty with caramel notes, moves to roasty and burnt sugar and finishes mildly bitter.

Had on tap at Taco Mac in Athens Ga. Nice rich malty aroma with a bit of nuts; great lacing with an off-white thick head. Dark copper appearance. Good solid nutty, malty flavor - just the right amount of sweetness for a bock.

deep brown with hints of red. Decent tan head. Sweet malt flavor you'd expect from a bock, but distinct smoke as well. Unusual bock.

Caramel brown - in the color and the taste. Thicker malts, smooth and nutty. Finish was burnt sugar and mostly dry. Nice, but too sweet for me. This has got to win an award for wildest label!

Great label- looks like a psychedelic concert poster from the late '60's, gave it an extra point overall because of this. Reddish brown color, darker toward the middle. Semi-sweet malty nose. Has a nutty(?) taste like no other bock I've had.

A really nice take on the bock style-not as sticky as a lot of them are. A nice, lightly malty nose, an initial maltiness followed by some hops in the finish. Nicely balanced, not too heavy-almost a session bock. Also, possibly the only bock drinkable in the Atlanta heat.

Aroma is faint with a hint of fruit. Appearance is nearly red. Flavor is a little sour and fruity, tastes alot like blueberries, with mild hops. Very smooth but a little light. Overall its a good beer but not a great one.
