Rich amber color with a medium head that dissolved into just a thin sheet of light bubbles. The aroma is malt, smoke and yeasty. The first thing I get from the taste is a light hop bite then a full malt taste that blankets the tongue. Ive noticed Dogwood uses malts very nicely, subtle and not too rich. I usually dont use "chewey" to describe a liquid but this description fits here. Caramel taste as the beer came up in temp. irishsnake (353), Oakland, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 10, 2003 A really nice take on the bock style-not as sticky as a lot of them are. A nice, lightly malty nose, an initial maltiness followed by some hops in the finish. Nicely balanced, not too heavy-almost a session bock. Also, possibly the only bock drinkable in the Atlanta heat. rajendra82 (704), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 20, 2004 Reddish copper color with a thin, off white head that dissipated quickly. Nice lace initially but subsides soon with a low level of carbonation. Smell of grassy German Hallertau hops, caramel malt, and sweet spice. Tastes sweet and nutty with brown sugar, caramel, roasted grain, and hints of coffee. Mild spices emerge mid pallette but are very subdued compared to other bocks. Dry afterstaste with slight sourness apparent, but this does not detract from the drinkability. A bit thin, but a very refreshing take on the style.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 26, 2003 Had on tap at Taco Mac in Athens Ga. Nice rich malty aroma with a bit of nuts; great lacing with an off-white thick head. Dark copper appearance. Good solid nutty, malty flavor - just the right amount of sweetness for a bock. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 28, 2002 Clear orange-amber color, large beige head and decent lace. Malt dominates the nose, start sweetly malt, middle light, finish is acidic, moderately carbonated, some what sour, and a nice hop spicy bite that I like. Well worth the try and a good representative bock.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 23, 2004 Burgundyish brownish red, with a nice white head. Grainy, toasty aroma. Full, nutty flavors, with a slightly flat finish. Sampled at the brewery on the Great Atlanta Pub Crawl, 2004. BückDich (4857), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 2, 2004 Hazy orange/copper color, light head & lacing. The aroma is lightly sweet with some crisp hops and fruity notes. The flavor is good and balanced with a dry finish and a nice sweet full bodied mouthfeel. A good amount of hops for the style. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 5, 2004 I like wacky label art as much as the next guy, but this one seems to suggest that goats and beer bottles were delivered to Earth by U.F.O.s...not sure why theyre implying this, just seems a little bit weird...
Cloudy, dark amber color, with a fizzy, buzzing, active, slim cream-colored head.
In the nose, a toffee-ish sweetness, soft, sweet, fruity.
In the taste, more of the same, well-modulated, nice and juicy...pretty nice bock bier, I says. Ah, nice flavor rising up with every sip. Medium bodied, nice, sweet finish. Got to hand it to Dogwood, UFOs or no, this is a beauty of a bock.
