Flavor is not as hoppy as many IPA's, citurs and malt are also present in the flavor. Not as well rounded as it could be. Overall this a good IPA. irishsnake (353), Oakland, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | May 9, 2003 Decent hop aroma, with only a hint of malt. Definately a more English style IPA, but without as much malt as one would expect from the style. A touch astringent in the mouth. wilkie (1193), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 18, 2003 I enjoyed the Psychedelica labeling on this one. I like this much better than Dogwood"s Pale. The aroma and hops are overpowering at first and then begin to linger at the finish. PorterPounder (3148), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 27, 2002 Only thing I did not like about this was the label - looks like it wants to be a malt liquor - but since I do not ding for labels like my buddy Aurelius - I still gave it a 4 for appearance as I like the orangish color and the long lasting head. Aroma is everpresent and reminiscent of walks through microbrewries out west where you can smell the freshly picked hops. Grapefruit taste is prevalent but not overpowering. Strong finish - impressed by Dogwood thus far. Need to pay them a visit. Aurelius (2655), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 27, 2002 Lousy label, however the beer appearance makes up for it. Nice hazy pumpkin orange. Dogwood still appears pretty foamy. Big, big, fresh hop aroma -- smells like the hop tea that I make for the homebrew. This stood head and shoulders over the Saranac IPA sampled immediately prior to this. Carbonation and hop sting over sweet kumquat/citrus. Andrew196 (1091), Katy, Texas, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 15, 2002 Crisp, west coast aroma. Cloudy orange with particulates. In mid sip, this beer presented me with a wall of shit tasting malt...caught me off guard...ended rather dry too. What a horrible finish to a beer which started out rather promising.
