Commercial Description:
An overwhelming earthy floral aroma leaps out of the glass and slaps you in the face due to the huge amounts of whole leaf Golding hops used to dry hop the beer. A spicy hop flavor arises from late flavor additions in the kettle and through more whole leaf hop cones in our hop-back. A combination of select specialty barleys imparts a soft, fruity maltiness.

Hazy amber body with a good-looking creamy white head that leaves plenty of lacing. Smells like a discarded grapefruit left by a camper on a pine forest floor. This is all very subtle, the flavor doesn’t leap out, perhaps the carbonation’s not right for it. The earthiness is way more apparent when sipping the beer. Dry, earthy/musty hops provide a nice couterpart to a dry wheat cracker malt. The carbonation might be a little too zippy, could be more gentle. An interesting and unique IPA.

Poured a nice copper with a large white foamy head. The aroma was very yeasty and hoppy, with a slight citrus hint and some odd assortment of spiciness as the beer warmed. The flavor was noticably sweet with maltiness, yet still had that great hoppy bitterness at the finish. Rather dry and acidic. I enjoyed this one, too bad there will be no more.

Fruity, leafy, piney and yes, earthy noble hop aroma, a very faint toasty malt sweetness in the background. Medium copper color, opaque (bottle-conditioned) with a lasting, creamy off-white head and respectable lacing. Flavor is appropriately hoppy and bitter from beginning to end, full, fruity and citric but with a gentle and complimentary maltiness on the finish. Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth, body is medium. Very easy to drink indeed. Thanks, Jay!

Hey, this may be retired but I found a few bottles of it in downtown Chatanooga at the local Mello Mushroom. They told me Dogwood was out of business but they had a few bottles left. Not a bad brew all and all. Too bad I’ll never get to try any more of their stuff. However, when I left they still had a couple bottles left. If any of you were big fans, you might get a last taste if you hurry:-)

Pours a dark murky orange/yellow, big fluffy white head. Aroma of piney hops. Flavor of piney hops, bitter. Astringent flavor and aroma. Smooth palate. Very nice brew. Thanks to Shag for this tasty brew!

Cloudy tangerine skin orange color with a thin white head. Strong grassy nose, slight hints of citrus underneath. Malts are thin, hoppy dry taste at the finish and on through the aftertaste. One dimensional, but not offensive at all. May quench your thirst, but good luck...the doors of this brewery are CLOSED!

10.08.04 12oz bottle thanks to Springslicker. Pours clouded and orangey gold with a gigantic head fading slowly and rocky, leaving sticky sheets of lace. Nice apricot and honeysuckle aromas yield to citrus and evergreen as the beer warms. Palate is soft, malt forward, and crisply finishing. The flavor seems to lose alot of the sweetness that the aroma teased with, but the beer is exceedingly drinkable. It’s too bad I only have one. Thanks for this treat, Jay!

Uniformly peachy in color, with a generous, lively, full and rocky vanilla head. Aroma, piney/sprucey hints at first, with sweet pineapple and mango feel, and a touch of grapefruit as well, high citrus here. Taste, fresh, fruity, still bitter on the palate, though quickly fading in that regard, rounding off into a creamy utter deliciousness. Becomes a mix of bitter to yummy that is nearly un-heard-of! Body is medium, drifting away into light, finish is sweet, soft, tasty, soon gone. An interesting take on the style, sweeter than many, but, still, flush with flavor, gotta give it creds for that!
