| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 3, 2004 Cloudy murky brown with a thin tan head. Mild malty aroma has a touch of hops. Pretty thin bodied and dry with some off-balanced earthiness to it. Something probably went wrong with this sample. BBB63 (4271), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 4, 2004 Hazy brown with amber highlights that produces a thin tan ring and minimal lace. The aroma hints of floral and piney hops, raosted malts, caramel and earthy yeast esters. The taste is piney and sappy, some sweet malt malt and biscuit background. Citric, woody and spicy supporting characteristics. The finish is very bitter. Dry and astringent mouthfeel. Unique and good beer, quaffable but a brown ale? Not really, more like a dark APA. goldtwins (4085), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 16, 2005 Tap at KP’s cellar. Poured a murky deep amber with a large light tan head. Aromas of malt, paper, and light spice. Flavor starts out malty then half way through becomes spicy and stays that way through finish. Dickinsonbeer (3502), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is nice and toasty and bready with slight nutty malts as well. Good malt sweetness mixed with fruity esters as well. Flavor profile still tasted pretty fresh despite this not being brewed in a while. Malty, clean toasted biscuit malt, and a clean finish. Nice. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 14, 2004 Nice brownish color with smallish head. Taste has a rasberry sourness to go along with a mildly sweet maltiness. Weird kind of yeast taste. I’m not sure what they are going for with this style but I doublt it’s a brown. Tastes a bit like a dubbel but what do I know? harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 2, 2003 This stuff is just awesome and that is really all there is to say about it, try and make up your own mind. A definite porter quality with some nice mellow roastiness, nutty flavor dominate. Nice chocolately coffee esque character that is not overly sweet or bitter. Perfectly balanced and lightly complex.
