my #400 22 oz. bottle via trade with TBC2 - Pours a hazy amber color with a small light tan head. Very light spotty lacing. Has a very nice fruit aroma. Has a sweet fruit flavor with a good bit of bitterness to back it. Alcohol is well masked. A somewhat smooth, medium to full body beer. A very nice BW. Thanks Matt.

Thanks to the BeerCellar2 for the chance to try this brew! A good barleywine, how old was this brew? When did they go out of business? Anyways I didnt have my computer or notes handy when rating this beer, but what i remeber was that i liekd it! Some fruity smells come through immediately, then the palate is very thick and full while still being fairly smooth for the 10% alcohol. The taste had some malty sweetness and bready/biscuit flavors then a nice hop bitterness tht finishes things up...which was nice to see because the hops were not really present anywhere else. Overall a good beer!

Thank for sharing the bottle Matt. Pours amber with a thin white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee. Taste of caramelized wort and alefruits, especially plums. Mouthfeel is full bodied and resinous with lush carbonation.

Pours with a deep amber body topped by a medium thick head with a good amount of lacing. The aroma slightly sweet and malty with a note of oakiness and some caramel. The flavor is sweet and malty with lots of caramel and cady sugar. Ful bodied and smooth.

(22 oz. bottle, unlabelled with name of beer handwritten on cap, via trade with goldtwins, thanks Larry!) Pours a rather murky amber-orange with a very thin orangish-biege head that recedes to the edges. Aroma is sweet and brown-sugary. Some very fine, sloppy lacing. Mouthfeel is smooth, fairly soft and full, a bit sticky. Flavor is pretty hot and sweet, lots more malt than I’ve had in a barleywine. The malt gives it a vanilla sweetness, as well as some brown sugar. Some piney hops but very little bitterness. There are elements of a doppelbock, a big IPA and a barleywine in this. Alcohol not well-hidden because there is quite a burn but vanilla kind of softens it. I liked this but would expect some more complexity for a really good barleywine.

Slightly cloudy amber orange. Aromas are malt, fruit, and alcohol. Flavors are fruit, malt, and caramel. One of the better barleywines.

lots of fruity aromas here. normal barleywine appearance. not the hoppiest barley wine. it’s only been about 12 hours since i had this and i can’t remember much about it. not a good sign. i remember it being decent.

Soapy head crowns cloudy orange/ruby hue. Prickly aroma of sour cherries smoothed by jelly danish-like malty presence. Some plum as well. Hardly any alcohol presence. A lot of buttery apple and brown sugar flavor. Full finish expresses itself with initial caramel-tinged bitterness and lingers on and on and on. Thanks Kevin for sharing this with us!
