| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 22, 2006 Pours a cloudy medium amber with a thin lasting fimly head. Aroma is loaded with friuty esters, light citrus, thick sharp sweet caramel malts and a slight oxidation which works well here. Figs and other dried fruits in the flavor- raisins etc, thick sweet chewy caramel malts. Finishes with an earthy abrupt bitterness in the back of the throat, and somewhat dry. Slight astringency toward the end as well, which might be an indication of its age? MIBRomeo (1966), Wisconsin, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 24, 2006 Murky and deep amber. Nice carbonation, and head reactivated easily. Big and weighty texture. Blast of malts, with mouthwatering elements of toffee, brown sugar, cooked raisins, and caramel-covered toast. Hops kept up pretty well, with elements of grass, orange, and spruce tips (especially in the finish and aftertaste). Sort of drying in the finish. Decent amount of bitterness counteracted the sweetness. Throat-warming alcohol. Good stuff. Thanks Paul! IrishBoy (2730), Bakersfield, California, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Apr 24, 2006 Thanks to TheBeerCellar2 for the trade that brought this bottle of the retired Dogwoods brew. Hazy amber ale with almost no head. Caramel malt aroma, Flavor brings foth caramel maltiness and a bit of plummy fruitiness, the alcohol coming through just a little in the aftertaste with a bit of hop bitterness. I don’t know when this was bottled, but too bad Dogwoods is gone, it has become excellent, whatever it’s age. jimbowood (983), Athens, Georgia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 22, 2006 Bottle, but I’m sure this was never bottled by the brewery.
No label. How is this brewery no longer around? Great representation of the style. Sweet malt character w/ a salty hint and dry finish. Again, how are these guys no longer brewing beer? barleyPops (1081), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 11, 2006 The aroma had a syrupy thickness to it. It also had light fruit, candy, and slight flowers. The beer poured a hazy brownish orange color w/ slight lasting head and lacing. The flavor has caramel, slight flowers, light citrus, malt notes, and light fruit. The mouthfeel was light and creamy.
