22oz unlabeled bottle. Pours a hazy copper, nice and cloudy, with a small cream colored head that slowly recedes to a small ring around the glass. Wonderful sweet malt aroma, raisins, caramel, and prunes, some soft cotton candy sweetness and apple aroma as well. Taste is a large sugary caramel and bready sweetness along with large amounts of golden raisin sweetness, some hints of citrusy hops are discernible but nearly lost in the load of sweet maltiness. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy in body, sugariness keeps it thick, somehat sticky sweetness, creamy carbonation. A drying and nice alcohol warmth in the finish. Outstanding barleywine, no idea how old this bottle is but it is fantastic and could probably go longer also. Thanks Steve for the opportunity.

Bottle from CaptainCougar. Pour was hazy orangey-brown, nice initial head (great pssst on bottle opening, was expecting a little flatter), good lacing. The aroma was fruity and floral some caramel and faint tea bags (the latter worried me). The flavor was grapes, pears, strawberries, caramel, gentle floral hops, slight hop-spicey finish too. No signs of oxidation, fairly smooth and drinkable, odd floral and fruity combo, yet decent. Mouthfeel moderate, short of sticky, moderately carbonated. Thanks, Tom, a nice one.

22 oz bomber. Shared with Bartzilla. This beer truly is excellent. It’s sad that this is gone forever. Luckily, I have one more bottle. This is what a BW should taste like. Rich, malty, thick, and delicious. There is a lot going on in this beer. Very complex, yet drinkable. Brown sugar, wood, and fruit dominate in the flavor. Awesome.

bottle.....pours medium reddish brown with little to no head.....aromas of aged malt and way too sweet dark fruits. almost resembled a cough syrup unfortunately......tasted much of the same. a way too sweet sugar malt bomb with a slight hop bitterness coming through at the end....this might be getting way past its prime.....glad to be able to try it though.

Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry, Jerc, GregClow, and Blankboy, courtesy of blankboy. Dark orange, very little head. Strong malty, sweet aroma - lots of fruit too. Taste is hot - tons of alcohol, burns up front. Gives way to lots of bread, wood, and fruit notes. A grower, I loved it by the end. Good stuff.

Bottle shared with tupalev, HogTownHarry, blankboy and jerc - blankboy’s bottle. Slightly hazy orange-amber with a small head. Aroma is a bit bottle-stale, but quite nice otherwise - warm and sweet, with dark sugar and toffee, and a bit of booze. Flavour is warm and boozy, with toffee sweetness off the top, and big woody/piney/citric hops in the finish. Soft mouthfeel. Very nice!

Bottle (22oz). Shared with blankboy, GregClow, jerc and tupalev, blankboy’s bottle. Hazy orange with an average wispy pour. Bitter, stale buttermilk aroma, with alcohol, orange zest and dry hops. The taste seemed a bit old and oxidized, but considering, still quite good - the taste made me think of the decades-old split rail farm fences we used to retrieve and burn for firewood when I was a kid, woody, musty, dry; also orange juice, alcohol and malt, but mostly dry and bitter in the finish. Slick, still, quite astringent mouthfeel, borderline boozy but very good.

My bottle (650ml) shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, tupalev & jerc -- courtesy of fordest. Pours a cloudy orange-amber with an average size diminishing tan head. Lovely aroma of caramel malt, toffee, candi sugar, fruit, wood, light alcohol and faint hops. Flavour of caramel malt, brown sugar, fruit, alcohol, wood and a long bitter finish. Starts a bit hot but it doesn’t last. Medium bodied. A shame this brewery went under, this is a really good beer.
