Ungstrup (11136), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 6, 2005 A clear orange beer with a dense off-white head. The aroma is sweet fruity with strong notes of caramel as well as alcohol. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of alcohol, prunes, and over-ripe fruits. Papsoe (9999), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 1, 2007 (Hand bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of CaptainCougar. Pours a fairly cloudy, orangey golden with a small, off-white head. Typical fat Barley Wine aroma of burned caramel and overripe fruit. Quite full in body, sweetish caramel notes and a touch of nuts, wood and vanilla. Quite a distinct alcohol presence in the finish. But lovely indeed. 280907 Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 27, 2006 Slightly reddish-amber colour. Sugary, slightly fruity aroma with fresh tangerines and sultanas. Chewy, pale malt flavour is rounded and slightly oxidized, but fairly straightforward. Yeah, some fruits, lots of sweet pale malt stuff, and some late nasal-clearing alcohol but it’s all been done before. Still too young, IMO. yespr (6373), Copenhagen O, Denmark Oct 5, 2007 Updated: Aug 6, 200875 cL bottle, handbottle, thanks to Papsoe. Pours reddish with a lacing white head. Dried fruity and heavy malty aroma. Soft mouthfeel. Quite heavy dried fruity and slight sticky sweet flavour. Dark slight woody flavour into the finish which ends with a warming alcohol feel.6-3-7-4-14=3.4
