The aroma was of fruity malt with a hint of citrus. Malty flavor that was mildly sweet. Hint of bitterness on the finish. While this beer is aged it has been in the fridge since its purchase. No real aged malt character and light on the hops. kp (8396), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

Nose is a bit grainy and funky. Flavor is grainy, but in a good way. Decent malty backbone. Even past it’s prime, agood beer. cbkschubert (1981), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA

Thought I would give it a try anyways. It pours a cloudy amber color with a large white head. Leaves long thick lacing. Has a soapy aroma. Age? Flavor has lots of sweet fruity esters. Medium body. For a Pale Ale that is probably 2 years old, not bad. Thanks Matt. jtw (942), farmington, Michigan, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 24, 2006 i debated for some time about rating this beer or not; i got it in a recent trade with TheBeerCellar2 and knew that dogwood was out of business, but seeing that it’s been a year since the last rating i didn’t know if it was fair (or even relevant!) to rate this one. but after drinking it i decided that because it’s still good, it’s "rate-able." hazy apple cider color, with decent beige lace. citrus and ginger aroma, with a slight tangy hint of oxidation which i don’t count against the beer. an interesting mixture of dryly-fermented brown sugar and hops, and lots of caramel and pale malt as well. feels very ’natural’ throughout, which i would explain as full-bodied and inspired. thanks matt. <!-- br --><!-- br -->this brewery is out of business? how did that happen? hopdog (5590), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
