The aroma is lightly malty with notes of chocolate. The flavor is a blast of zesty hops and chocolate malt, the black patent is very apparent in the mouthfeel. A surprisingly easy drinking stout that deserves all the credit it has earned. kumite56 (461), Cordova, Tennessee, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 21, 2003 I am not much of a stout fan but I thought this beer was nice. The black body was nicly topped with a small but lasting brown head, some lacing. The aroma was nicely done with roasty malts predominating and a nice chocolate hint as well. Taste was well balanced as the initial sweetness of the malt was nicely offset with a tyical stout dry finish. A good beer. Check it out while in Georgia. SirTom (85), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 8, 2003 The aroma and flavour would have higher scores, but sometimes this beer is on and sometimes it's not. When it's on, it's VERY coffee-like and roasted, with some chocolate tones. biermonk (259), San Francisco, California, USA

Left excellent lacing. Malty nose some chocolate. This had an excellent flavor. These guys are bringing validity to the game of Georgia Brewing. slang (405), Columbia, South Carolina, USA

Aroma is mostly roasted malt and a hint of coffee. Dry bittersweet body with a nicely balanced semi-sweet chocolately finish. A nice drinkable stout with good flavor profile. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 12, 2003 Updated: Jan 18, 2004I really thought this stuff was awesome, and I am not a big fan of stouts. This one had alot of flavor to it. A very traditional stout, with your traditional flavors, but it is very sweet and very dry. A must try. Re-rate: This stout is probably the best dry stout, hands down. Although sometimes inconsistent, for the most part it is very well balanced, extremely dry, with lots of roasted malts and chocolate, with a bit of a coffee finish. Very rich and very creamy. jgb9348 (2513), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 6, 2003 Very dark brown colour body with a nice light brown coloured head. Strong roasted malt aroma with hints of cherries, dark chocolate (~71% cacao) and a subtle sweetness. Medium-bodied; Strong roasted flavour with the normal hints of chocolate and coffee. Aftertaste shows a slightly different note with major bitterness and only a minor showing of the sweetness. Overall, a very nice stout, oen that should be tried by everyone! I got this twelve ounce bottle at Green's in Atlanta, Georgia (my pack is the same as Haddon90's).
