Commercial Description:
Dogwood Stout is a dry, Irish stout. We use a combination of roasted barley, flaked barley and chocolate malt to create a complex, textured maltiness with hints of coffee and chocolate with a rich fullness of body. We leave it unfiltered to add to its complexity. Its deep, dark mysterious color is topped off by a robust creamy head. It too is naturally carbonated. Dogwood Stout won a Silver Medal Winner at the 1997 World Beer Championships and was named one of top two microbrews in Atlanta by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Dogwood Stout is available in bottles and on tap anytime of the year.

deep brown, tan head. big roasty, coffee-ish, "rum and raisin" aroma. the flavour doesn't compare to the aroma, but there is good flavour of dried fruit, milk chocolate and mocha.

Very dark brown color with a brown head. Dominant coffee bean in the nose with some fudgey/choclatey notes. Hints of light roast and fruit also present. The body smooth, just a touch of slight iron at the beginning before moving onto better things. Coffee notes and a light hop bitterness fill the middle and end. Lacking in the area of roast I though, but otherwise a nice aromatic stout.

Roasted coffee aroma, deep brown, with a small coffee head. Tastes of coffee and chicory, fine bitterness, medium bodied, a really nice example.

Dark brown creamy head. Chicory well roasted malt, rich with good depth. Some bite at front, nicely roasted coffee grains, some lighter chocolate at finish.

Opaque dark brown w/ brown head. Roasty, dry chocolaty aroma. Creamy feel. Decent flavour of roasted coffee beans & sweet chocolate. Dry, somewhat earthy finish. Though, overall, I found this beer to slightly watery flavours.

Opaque. Dense, fudgey aroma - toffeeish malts, figs, nuts - high enjoyable. Touch of iron in the chocolatey body. Moderate sweetness. Good balance.
