Commercial Description:
Dogwood Summer Brew is a Belgian-style white beer with 2-row barley, both malted and unmalted wheat, and a touch of oats. Dried orange peel and coriander are added for a unique, subtle complexity. The Belgian yeast provides a smooth roundness to the beer while giving off subtle hints of peach and apricot flavors. It is naturally carbonated it and unfiltered.

Dark golden in color with minimal cloudiness, the head dissipates rapidly and is egg white in color. Aroma is rather muted, but does contain orange and coriander and light yeastiness. The flavor improves upon the aroma with sweet wheatiness and nice spiciness. Thanks CaptainCouger.

Draft at Brick Store Pub in Decatur GA. This is a cloudy gold colored beer with a decent head ( it might have been bigger - the problem having drafts brought to your table). The sweet malt is balanced by a strong spicyness and lemony tang. Whitbeers aren’t at the top of my list of favorites, but this is one beer that’s quite drinkable and would be a good one for aquiring a taste for this style.

12oz btl. poured golden honey appearence. head dissapates very quick. corriander with slight floral/citrus notes. nice light smooth moutfeel. corriander spice and very slight orange peel to flavor, just a faint hop presence. very enjoyable on a nice summer day such as this one. good job dogwood.

On tap at the Flying Saucer in Charlotte. Poured a nice golden color with very little head. This was a standard white with a very nice citrus flavor. Dogwood hasn’t let me down yet.

Been sampling allot of Witbiers lately. This is another outstanding one from a new beer state for me Georgia. Smooth, Citrusy, very very nice beer. Another excellent selection by Ross. Givin him his props. Dogwood is another great surprise and very tasty beer.

On tap: Pours a lightly hazy copper with a thick puffy white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt with a hint of spice. Body starts nicely sweet and full with a well balanced coriander and orange citrus flavor. Smooth and drinkable, with decent complexity and good balance. A very nice Dogwood beer.

a witbier? er.. ok.. this isnt what i would consider a witbier, but whatever.. its good, nice orangy flavor with a little dose of hops. head is non existant, and the beer is a orange yellow color. taste very good, and very refreshing...id buy this again, and i cant wait to put it to the real test (working outside).

Nearly clear golden yellow appearance is very attractive, but is marred by a smallish head that is gone in an instant. The aroma is very spicy with coriander up front and clove backing it up. The taste does justice to the aroma with coriander, orange peel, clove, pepper, and other sundry spices vying for your attention. There is also a lemony tanginess in here. This is an ultra refreshing, and easy drinking beer that is perfect for the summer. The only fault I can find here is the lack of a substantial amount of malts and hops. I know it is a summer beer, but if Victory Whirlwind Witbier can get away with being beefier, there is no harm for Dogwood to try it too.
