Sweet start, orangey flavors, middle medium, the finish is nicely hopped, and some what dry, slightly sour and acidic, minimal carbonation. Quite a pleasant beer that is not overpowering, but quite refreshing. aracauna (2391), Georgia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 22, 2002 I’m really surprised they managed to sell and make this beer in Georgia. Great big yeasty, citrusy, spicy aroma. Very large head with meringue-like stiffness. Flavor is perhaps less spicy than the typical belgian strong pale, but it’s also a bit sweeter and a maltier. Excellent beer. The only real problem is that , like several of the other Dogwoods I’ve had in the bottle, it’s a foamer. Be very wary when opening a bottle from Dogwood. bluemeow76 (693), Lewis Center, Ohio, USA

Hoppy aroma with hints of clove and nutmeg. Swwet flavors of cinnamon and nutmeg that finish bitter. Was hoping to save this until later in the year but the seal on the swing top had been compromised by the move so much like Crazy Eddie’s old Christmas sales in August I took to a Winter Ale during these ’Dog Days’. Thanks to BHB. Dogbrick (2864), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 12, 2002 Thanks BHB! This really didn’t strike me as a winter brew. Dark gold color with a thin head (for Dogwood ales especially). Malty, lightly spiced and citrusy aroma. Flavor was malty as well with hints of spice, vanilla, and citrus. I am glad I drank this one in the summer instead of winter because I think it is suited much better to the warmer season. brewbandit (312), Marietta, Georgia, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 7, 2002 Starts with an alcohol, fruit/clove aroma. More like a wit/tripel than any winter brew, but I’m not complaining. I’d be interested to know what the ABV% is. Thanks belgianhomebrew! Nate (2554), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma and taste almost like a wheat beer. Hazy, golden honey color. White head dissipates fairly quick. Bit too fizzy, ’burns’ on the tongue. Hints of yeast, citrus. Finish is a bit off, not clean. Not too bad.
