Dec 11, 2005 Thanks to KP for sharing this one. The beer pours a dark brown color from a growler. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is brown sugar and molasses, some oak and bourbon. A medium to full bodied Double. Malts are brown sugar, fruity and sweet. Very smooth. Oak and bourbon flavors are very evident. Mellow and very easy drinking. Nice beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Dec 11, 2005 Had this fine beer on tap at kp’s. Very black, very chocolate. definite whiskey tones in both the aroma and body, damn fine brew i must say.

Dec 11, 2005 On tap at KP’s, WOW! Is all I have to say to that. A dark brown to black apperance with no head. Lots of chocolate and whiskey in the aroma. The flavor was full of burbon with some grapes, chocolate, and cherries present. A very sweet and warming finish. Good stuff.

Dec 5, 2005 Sampled at the Pizza Port 9th Strong Ale Festival, thanks to whomever opened the growler of this at the "ratebeer" table. Nice roasty malt backbone, smooth and drinkable the barrell aging is quite prominent, and very welcome. Great stuff.

Dec 4, 2005 This was AWESOME. Tasted from a growler fill a ratebeerian graciously brought to pizza port’s strong ale fest. Apparently it was aged in jack daniels casks, and it comes through very clearly. A neat taste on an already fantastic beer. A moment of silence for this brewery going out of business.

Sep 3, 2005 Thanks to Wunderbier for the bottle. Murky dark orange brown with a large light tan rocky head. Muted whiskey aromatics. Pungent whiskey notes joined by large caramel and doughy malt flavors. Dulled spiciness with residual doughy flavors in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium and fairly full and sticky.

Mar 16, 2005 Tap at KP’s cellar. Poured a tawny color. Moderate whiskey aroma with caramel and some roastiness. Flavor matched malty with a whiskey backbone. Smooth mouthfeel, light carbonation, and medium bodied.
