Pours cloudy brown. Aroma is spicy, with yeast and wood. Taste is dry, with flavors of chocolate, spice and a little bit of hops. Thanks to BeerCellar2 for this bottle.

Thanks to The_Beer_Cellar_2 for this one. Bottle, pours dark brown and nearly completely opaque. Small white head diminishes rapidly and leaves minimal lacing. Aroma is subdued. Malty, slightly sour, hints of coffee, oak and dark brown bread. Flavor is more robust than the aroma, good complex blend of dark roasted malts, bitter chocolate, acidic notes, a bit of alcohol and a hop finish. Medium body, soft carbonation. This one should age well and I look forward to trying my next bottle in a year or so!

Creamy head, dark brown brew. Woody, nutty and some chocolate aroma. Light sweetness in the background. Bark, nutmeg and other spices give tone to flavour. Bitter finish with earthy mix.

Pours a hazy brown color, thinner head. Was fairly roasty, a little milky, kind of sweet as well. Smooth medium body. I liked it but I have trouble accepting that it was a dubbel.

Hazy brown colour with a wispy head. Aroma is roasty and sightly sour. Flavour is very earthy with some coffee and chocolate notes. Really seems more like an old style porter than a dubbel...

Dark brown body with a thin head. Aroma is smokey, spicy, and meaty? Taste is earthy, sour and some slight sweet malt. Bitter finish. Thanks beercellar2 for this one!

Murky brown w/ light brown head. Light aroma of chocolate & sour cherry. Medium body w/ lots of carbonation. Surprisingly tart (primarily cherry), chocolate flavour w/ some spicy, yeasty, & woody (pine? oak?) notes. Finish is dry & bitter.

Dark brown body with a nice beige head. I also thought it was some kind of porter from the bit of sour fruity malt in the first approach. Sweet malt with hints of chocolate might have fared better had I not been distracted by the sour notes (are these on purpose?) Nice beer but not loving it.
