Commercial Description:
BrewMaster’s Series #1 - The BrewMaster’s Series is a limited edition series where each beer is crafted by one of our brewers. Every batch in the series is unique and reflects the brewer’s imagination, creativity, and passion for beer. Enjoy. Youngblood’s Imperial Porter is brewed with a wide variety of malted barley and has a rounded chocolate character from the roasted grains. I wanted to explore using many different malts. It’s not for the faint of heart.

Bottle from OhioDad. Nice dark brown pour with a big tan head. Great aroma, my nose picked up on a vanilla edge immediately backed by a nice choco-roasty taste. Flavor was similar, but did have the slightest tinge of that musty cellar funk. I still liked this one a lot. Lots of coffee notes along with a deep roasted flavor emerge as it warms. Very full bodied and smooth mouthfeel. We enjoyed this very very much.

Poured as pretty as a porter can rolling carbonation. Taste was a burnt dark chocolaty, coffeeish taste. Lite sweet start with a nice bitter finish. Had that slightly grainy feel. Very good beer but I wonder if it was past its prime. Side by side with a lesser rated porter this beer finished slightly off the pace. Thanks kp for the opportunity to try this beer.

This is a very dark beer out of the bottle with a cream foam head dark brown in color. The nose has lots of bitter chocolate and molassess sweetness. Smooth velet mouthfeel. Flavors of bitter dark chocolate, burnt toast, ash, with a roast coffee bean finish. This is a really complete flavored beer, very balanced and very enjoyable. It is a shame that this is an orphan beer.

22-oz. bottle compliments of TheBeerCellar2, thanks Matt. Pours opaque with a small creamy-foamy brown head and some lined, spotty lacing. Aroma is dark sweet chocolate, dark roasted chocolate and caramel malt, a tad smoky, some notes of yeast (leather, horse blanket), coffee, toffee, port and dark fruits (plum, figs). Medium bitter dark chocolate start, low sweetness with no acidity, velvety chocolate malt with a leathery yeast finish. Dark and full bodied, smooth palate.

Thick, very, very dark and it just looks "imperial" and large. Great, chocolate-coffee and roasty malt-laden aroma...smells inviting. The flavor is delightful - heavy on vanilla and coffee - nicely balanced with just a tad of perfect bitterness. It’s a shame that this porter is no longer available. The only Baltic Porter that I can say I may like better is made by Southampton.

Many thanks the TheBeerCellar2 for the bomber of this rare treat - thick, opaque pour, with moderate ring of tan lacing - aroma is quite dry, woody and almost smokey, with lots of dark roast coffee and some toffee and caramel in the back - smooth, creamy mouthfeel - heavy cream and coffee dominate the flavor - a nice dryness compliments these tastes - a hint of vanilla and dried fruits (cherries, dates) - it certainly is a shame that this brewery no longer exists.

(22oz bottle) Given to me by SpringsLicker at the RateBeer Summer Gathering 2005 in Montreal. Many, many thanks Jay! Pours a near headless beer with an opaque body. Nose is wild - heavy alcohol, coffee and molasses. Flavour is mildly retarded a little too smooth and coffee-cola. Very good.
