Commercial Description:
BrewMaster’s Series #1 - The BrewMaster’s Series is a limited edition series where each beer is crafted by one of our brewers. Every batch in the series is unique and reflects the brewer’s imagination, creativity, and passion for beer. Enjoy. Youngblood’s Imperial Porter is brewed with a wide variety of malted barley and has a rounded chocolate character from the roasted grains. I wanted to explore using many different malts. It’s not for the faint of heart.

Tasted at the labor day gathering. Smell is jsu chocolate covered strawberries. Absolute heaven. Appearance is black with a dark cream head around the glass. Flavor is hars and peppery enough to finish with a crisp hop flow, well carbonated. Strange that the fruit notes do not come through in the flavor like it does in the aroma.

22oz bomber: I finally cracked open this fine brew. It pours out of the bottle an oily, thick dark brown color. The head was very small and light brown in color. The nose is quite nice and full. There are noted of smokiness, chocolate, roasted malts, and a few other goodies that are hard to pick out from the others. The first thing that hits you is how smooth this is to the taste. It is almost silky on your tongue. The taste is rich. It is really a disservice to try and identify the individual flavors. They just mesh together to make an incredibly tasty brew. Too bad these guys went under, this was exceptional. Thanks again, Jay!

22oz bottle received in a trade with thebeercellar2 - Thanks Matt! - Pours thick black with ruby highlights and a nice mocha brown head that dissipates rather quickly to a film and laces the glass. Aroma is sweet milk chocolate, brown sugar, and roasted malt. Smells delicious. Flavor is quite rich.. Deep milk chocolate flavor and roasted smoky chocolate malt and even a little peat flavor. Very earthy. A touch of bourbon flavor comes in at the end. The mouthfeel of this is great.. Creamy and rich enough to coat your mouth yet thin enough to know it is a porter and not a stout.. Very nice brew that I’m glad I got to try. It is a true shame that this beer is now retired...

Pours out a very dark, thick liquid. Opaque in the the glass. Not much head. Aroma of velvety chocolate and dark, roasty malts. Superb aroma. The flavor is rich and roasty, chocolate. Mouthfeel is nice, though I’d like it to be a bit more creamy. The aftertaste lingers a long time, but overall the flavor is not quite as good as the aroma. The beer really ’feels’ like a porter and not a stout. Just something about it. I wish they still made it, cuz I want another bottle of this one.

Dark brown, almost black w/ frothy light brown foam. Roasty, malty aroma of dark chocolate & coffee w/ notes of dark fruit, vanilla & oak. Full-bodied, oily feel. Rounded flavour that is moderately sweet, lightly hoppy & earthy.

(Bottle 65 cl) Pitch black and completely opaque with a dark brown head. Aromas of tar and burned malt. Surprisingly light-bodied with lots of burned malt in the flavour - but nothing much more really. A bit more complexity would make this a great beer. 240705

RBSG 05. Thanks to Jay for this one. Pours a rich deep dark brown almost black with a medium to small beige head. Aroma was really nice- lots of chocolate malts, some fruit and a fair amount of diacetyl/butterscotch. The flavor of fruits and chocolate malt along with lots of other dark roasted malts and caramel cover up the diacetyl in the flavor. Very mellow due to the age- the hop presence is very low. Pretty good long lasting finish.
