Quite a bit of roast, tart, some hops in the finish, all complimenting the flavors from the aroma. Medium body. Very nice balance overall. brewbandit (312), Marietta, Georgia, USA

Obviously, this one is getting pretty hard to get hold of these days. Poured an oily black with a thin dark tan head that faded slowly. Good nose of chocolate, coffee, and a liquor oriented alcohol warmth. Initial dark chocolate nose melds into a pleasant roasted espresso flavor, some unidentified dark fruit, and a hoppy bitter anise finish. A beautiful concoction, very rich in the mouth. Aroma is very grape like with some subdued coffee. Flavor is all over the place. Some dark fruits, coffee, roasted malt and a certain smokiness to it. Coats your mouth with every sip. Seems very refined overall. Very good porter. ChazyRPh (571), Chazy, New York, USA

Vineous aroma with some smokiness also. Burnt coffee hidden under the vineous tones. Wonderfully smokey, roasted malt and some wine. This is very luxurious. Silky smooth on the palate, coercingly bitter to finish. This is a class act, I am becoming a very big fan of Imperial Porters. Thanks Larry for this gem. smoosh (523), New Albany, Indiana, USA

Dark, dark brown body with a medium brown head - smallish and a bit thin. A huge flavor! Pretty much the flavor that I would expect along with a very nice smokey, lingering aftertaste. A nice, coating mouthfeel. Just a beautiful beer. Thanks to MRomero - again. I’ve seen Mark twice and he’s given me a Dark Lord and this beauty. Hey, Mark ... when are you coming back?!?
