Commercial Description:
BrewMaster’s Series #1 - The BrewMaster’s Series is a limited edition series where each beer is crafted by one of our brewers. Every batch in the series is unique and reflects the brewer’s imagination, creativity, and passion for beer. Enjoy. Youngblood’s Imperial Porter is brewed with a wide variety of malted barley and has a rounded chocolate character from the roasted grains. I wanted to explore using many different malts. It’s not for the faint of heart.

Part of a 7 beer imperial stout/porter tasting. 22 oz bottle. Black color, light tan head, coats glass. Aromas are roasted malts and hops. The taste is the same roasted malts, floral/citrus peels, and both sweet and sour? The finish is sourish, which sounds bad, but it wasn’t. One of the best of the tasting. Thanks Jay!

Thanks be to brooklynboy for sharing this beer with me. Dark in color with a thin tan head. Nose is malty and roasted. Taste is just about the same. Overall an average porter.

Black with a tan head. Looks good. Aroma was roasted coffee infused with dark chocolate. Medium bodied and minimal carbonation. Flavor was slightly sweet and repeated the notes of coffee and chocolate in the aroma. Good stuff.

This baltic porter pours with a black body topped by a very thick brown head with a good amount of lacing. The aroma is sweet and chocolatey wtih notes of vanilla, a slight roasty bitterness and a touch of burned wood. The flavor is sweet yet bitter with nice chocolate and roasty notes, as well as, slight vanilla notes. Incredible. Full bodied, smooth and creamy.

Pitch black body with a thin brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, full chocolate and some light metal. Medium-bodied; Bitter taste with roasted malt and chocolate throughout. Oveall, a nice beer and great to try! I sampled this beer at the November RB party at Founder’s in Alexandria, Virginia on 20-November-2004.

This pours out an oily black body with a tasty looking dark brown head. There is some lace left around the glass as the head dies down to a swirling cap of bubbles. Sweet chocolate, roasted malts and a bit of coffee peaks later on in the second half of the bomber after is sat out. The taste was similar as dark chocolate and roasted malts came on strong. Coffee and a nice hop bitterness rounded out the taste for an overall great tasting porter. The body was almost full with a really creamy and smooth mouthfeel. This goes down very easy and I can see have a few of these in a night if they were available around here. Great brew I am glad I traded for 2 bottles, thanks to rajendra82 for the trade.

I thought this stuff was spectacular. It’s pitch black in colour and has an oily consistency, that leaves a brown residue on the glass when it’s swilled about. The aroma is fantastically rich, majoring on Greek coffee, with treacle toffee and vanilla too. Chocolate, coffee, burnt malt, caramel, dried fruit and even some hops blend together well in the flavour. Although it’s rich, it’s not too sweet, so it goes down really easily. Lingering finish, with licorice, plums and molasses hanging around until the very end. OK, it’s not exactly subtle, but I love it. Bottled at DC gathering.
