Commercial Description:
BrewMaster’s Series #1 - The BrewMaster’s Series is a limited edition series where each beer is crafted by one of our brewers. Every batch in the series is unique and reflects the brewer’s imagination, creativity, and passion for beer. Enjoy. Youngblood’s Imperial Porter is brewed with a wide variety of malted barley and has a rounded chocolate character from the roasted grains. I wanted to explore using many different malts. It’s not for the faint of heart.

sampled at "An Evening with Pantanap #1": thanks to kan for sharing this retired beauty. 22oz bottle. pours black with no head. it sure is dark! nose of tootsie roll pops, sweet WHITE chocolate and coffee. flavor is slightly roasty, some coffee, milk chocolate. wow this is pretty past it’s prime, really thin, and you can just tell the soul of this beer dropped out. I’m not sure why the recent ratings are so high. i had high hopes for this one too, but just got to it too late. clean finish with some dark fruits. i bet this was once much tastier.

It pours nice and dark with creamy brown mocha head. The aroma does begin with a hint of alcohol followed by sweet malts mixed with highly roasted malts, creamy chocolate and molasses. The taste is creamy and smooth with mild burnt malts followed by sweeter molasses and rich tasting dark chocolate. I do get a note of alcohol and a mild warming. Very nice full flavored brew

Bottle shared by csbosox at theisti’s tasting 10/12. Pours jet black with a creamy mocha head that diminishes to a thin skin and leaves patchy lacing. The aroma is of cocoa, coffee, roasted malt and dark fruits. Medium to full-bodied with a silky mouthfeel concluding in a quick, lightly dry finish. The flavor more-or-less follow the nose with less emphasis on the coffee note. A nice dry, fruity flavor is coming through from the oxidation that’s obviously taken place with this bottle, emphasizing the sweet side of the flavor profile. This, however, is one of those beers that actually seems to benefit from being "damaged". A very tasty beer, and this unfortunately was probably the only chance that I’ll ever get to drink it. Thanks for sharing this one with the crew, Chris.

Courtesy mgumby10. Severe dark chestnut brown with dark tan head. Very nutty aroma with a roasty undertone, some lactic notes. Lighty carbonated, medium-bodied. The taste was nutty as well, with some oxidation coming into play. Alcohol well-hidden, but could use some stronger roast character.

22oz bottle provided by csbosox at my tasting 10/12. Pour is almost all black with a very thin head. Aroma of roasted coffe and just a hint of soy. Taste is very soft and smooth. Big roast and malty character. A slight bit of hop bitterness at the end. This reminded me a lot of Gonzo, though more complex and developed. Thanks for sharing this one, Chris.

Courtesy TheBeerCellar. Thanks Matt! Pours pitch black, with a thin, yet well-retained light brown head. Nice looking. Smells of rich chocolate and heavy on the roast. Creamy and malty. The flavor was big on the sweet chocolate, with the roast taking a backseat for most of the ride. Full on the palate, nice chocolate coating covered it effectively. Really well done Baltic Porter. This brew seems to have held up pretty good. Might not be totally in its prime, but was still tasty.
