Commercial Description:
Dominion Ale is brewed in an English style with American Two-Row Pale, Caramel, and Black malts. We use Perle, Willamette, and Mount Hood hops from the Pacific Northwest and English Kent Golding Hops. We ferment our ale with a traditional American yeast in the German Kolsch style - warm, fast fermentation followed by a slow maturation. Dominion Ale is malty with an assertive hop character dominated by the Kent Golding. It is crystal clear amber colored with medium body. Widely available in bottles and on draft, often as a house brand name.

Draught at Old Dominion Brewhouse, Washington DC
Deep blond color. It’s brewed without flaws and without character. The aroma is very light, the flavor has just some malt and some more caramel showing at the end.

12 oz bottle courtesy of Headbanger. Aroma is a sour malt scent with tones of citrus. Color is a hazy amber with very good carbonation and an almost out of control head. When I poured it I got 2/3 of a glass of foam. Taste is fizzy, light and bitter. Starting with lighter medium body it foams up in your mouth and goes down fizzy. Finish is a lemon and malt taste backed by a full bitterness. After taste is dry with some citrus. I don’t like the fizzy carbonation in this brew, it seems it keep the flavor from coming though.

Typical American ice cream parlor flavored brewery stuff. Not real beer by European standards. Almost no head, little in the way of natural or unnatural carbonation. Dark almost cloudy amber. Sweet and sticky, lacks much substance other than the sweet sticky after taste that turns coppery. Not recommened.

Again, stole this one out of my dad’s Christmas present (still sitting in the fridge). Very malty, chewy, with some caramel flavor in there. Alright but not great.

Bottle on closeout at Sam’s. Bottled 2/27/08. I half-expected this to be a diacetyl bomb like the Dominion Lager I had a few days ago, but upon first smell and taste this does not seem to be the case. Pours a lightish orange amber with a small white lace. Nose is very malt forward with hints of dough, nuts, english type hops. Flavor is more of the same, not much sweetness from the malts, mainly very grainy with some light bitterness from the hops. Not fruity or citrusy in any way. A very diiferent amber ale from what I am used to. No real off flavors but this really lacks complexity. Drinkable.

12oz bottle(8/9/08)-An amber body with a small covering for a head. Aroma of malt, caramel, and hops. Taste of malt, hops, and caramel and it finishes the same with a little dryness. This medim bodied brew is pretty tasty. This was pretty good,
