Commercial Description:
Dominion Ale is brewed in an English style with American Two-Row Pale, Caramel, and Black malts. We use Perle, Willamette, and Mount Hood hops from the Pacific Northwest and English Kent Golding Hops. We ferment our ale with a traditional American yeast in the German Kolsch style - warm, fast fermentation followed by a slow maturation. Dominion Ale is malty with an assertive hop character dominated by the Kent Golding. It is crystal clear amber colored with medium body. Widely available in bottles and on draft, often as a house brand name.

Dominion Ale pours a hazy orange hue with a small, white head that fully diminishes. Active body. Aroma is of light malts with a weak presence. Initially, it is light bitter, and the taste sort of just disappears after that. Mouthfeel is watery and is very carbonated. This is not a good attempt at an English Pale Ale. Reviewed in November, 2006.

Very light malt scent comes from the light copper body. Medium palate lies under a balanced hop and malt falvor. Toasted malts are the main flavor--very solid.

(draught) medium amber/copper. Very little off white head but nice lace. Faint malt aroma, hints of biscuit. Flavor was fairly sweet malt with a touch of old socks - perhaps the keg had sat for too long.

Bottle: Hazy copper color with a white head. Aroma, very malty, some caramel, not much in the way of hops in this bottle. Flavor, sweet, almost syrupy, there was a metallic flavor to it.

Draft at the DC Brewpub. Decent ale. Color was somewhere in the dividing line bwtween yellow and brown. Kinda one the light side, but had a noticable hop flavor. Ok

Light amber color, not much head. Strong butterscotch - diacetylic aroma. Hard metallic start, then crisp malty and butterscotchy flavors. Malty and hoppy aftertaste.
