Commercial Description:
Dominion Ale is brewed in an English style with American Two-Row Pale, Caramel, and Black malts. We use Perle, Willamette, and Mount Hood hops from the Pacific Northwest and English Kent Golding Hops. We ferment our ale with a traditional American yeast in the German Kolsch style - warm, fast fermentation followed by a slow maturation. Dominion Ale is malty with an assertive hop character dominated by the Kent Golding. It is crystal clear amber colored with medium body. Widely available in bottles and on draft, often as a house brand name.

On tap at the brewpub, RBSG 2006. A light amber beer with no head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of caramel, while the flavor is sweet malty with notes of toffee and light notes of aroma hops, before a dry end sets in with a mixture of fruit, caramel, and hop notes, that last for a long time.

Amber, hazy; aroma of cascades, wood; mild-tasting, slightly citric; wood notes; low bitterness (I’d say max. 25); touch of acid in the finish.

Draught at Old Dominion Brewhouse, Washington DC
Deep blond color. It’s brewed without flaws and without character. The aroma is very light, the flavor has just some malt and some more caramel showing at the end.

Very nice when supporting your local brewer means drinking stuff from Dominion. Very drinkable brew, with decent hops offset by nice caramel maltiness.

Bottled (vintage 2005)
Light amber color, not much head. Strong butterscotch - diacetylic aroma. Hard metallic start, then crisp malty and butterscotchy flavors. Malty and hoppy aftertaste.
