Poured black as night. Some medium to strong coffee aromas. Surprisingly thin body and flavor - very watery and very mild. Some hints of coffee and chocolate malts, but so water it was tough to pick out.

Sampler off the brewery taps 05/10/2008. Very dark almost back with small creamy head. Coffee dominates aroma with roast and chocolate malts. Nice coffee flavor with the support of roast and chocolate malts. A small amount of fruity yeast flavors with enough hop bitterness to support. Fairly dry finish and light mouthfeel.

Draft at the brewpub. I’m rarely a fan of nitrogen dispensed beers, but this could be my favorite beer done this way. Dark brown color, big creamy white head, cascading carbonation like a Guiness. Massive coffee aroma dominated the nose. Roasted espresso flavors mix with some nice sweet malts and a touch of chocolate. Has a bit more carbonated mouthfeel than you’ll often get from nitrogen, which was a pleasant surprise. Really smooth, nice finish, and over all a hell of a good beer.

On tap at the brewpub. Dark black body with ruby highlights and a medium creamy off-white head. Big coffee aroma with roasted malt and caramel. Strong coffee and light roast flavor, some faint caramel. Medium light body with fairly low carbonation.
